CWG calling for some mix of snow, ice, sleet, and freezing rain on Saturday.

Any chance of ice forming during play is too high a chance.

Accordingly, we will postpone GYROscope #1: Shoot the Gap (Ice Bowl Fundraiser #5) until Saturday, April 3, 2021.

If you cannot make the new date, we will provide you with a refund, but if I were you, I would err on the side of staying registered for now, as I don't anticipate demand for this event to be lower in April than it is in February.

I am monitoring the weather closely. Currently, the National Weather Service is calling for us to receive 6-8" of snow between now and Saturday. While I am confident the roads will be treated and plowed, my concerns are:

*Parking. I doubt the parking area will be plowed, and if it is, the grass areas where we stick cars will not be cleared.

*Safety. The course has lots of elevation, and slick conditions ... more

*Lost discs. If we get 6" of snow dumped on us, play will slow to a crawl as we look for every shot, even with ribbons, chalk, or lights.

I will have a decision about whether to postpone the event no later than Thursday at noon, when the precipitation picture will be clearer. I currently am leaning toward postponing the event until Saturday, March 3, but again: I want to carefully monitor conditions over the next 48 hours before making a decision. If we do reschedule, refunds will be available for players who are unable to attend on the new date.
