Freezebee Ice Bowl
About this tournament
We will be taking the donated food down to the Detroit Capuchin Soup Kitchen on MLK Day, Monday, January 18, 2010. If anyone wants to tag along feel free to contact me. Approximate time of departure is 9 am-ish.
The Chili by Rob Stivers was hot and awesome, Thank you Rob!
The MCCG would like to also thank Disc Golf Digest for coming out and filming the morning round in the coldest part of the day. Also, Brian Kaufman from the Detroit Free Press who shot an awesome video and posted it on the Freep's website:
http://freep.com/section/VideoNetwork?bctid=61201268001#/Freezebee+Ice+Bowl/61201268001
Our other sponsors (The Detroit Pistons, Monster Energy Drink, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bagger Dave's, Shields Pizza, Innova, and Discraft) also helped make for an awesome event.
The raffle provided a big impact to the cash donation and it figures a non-player (Mike MissedCashingBy1Shot Walker) won the Ozzy disc - way to go Mike!
The food is still trickling in so the final totals will not be readily available until we make the trek down to the city. Early reports however place our totals over $2000 and well over 1000 lbs of food. This makes the 2010 FREEZEBEE Ice Bowl our coldest yet largest donation to date - a job everyone should feel proud about. Thank-you everyone!
