Good evening.
When we set up the FG AM Tour last December , we locked in dates and locations for the whole series , partly to give a structure to the series but mostly because the NC PDGA calendar is a busy one, and you have to get in while you can.
So far all has been mostly smooth sailing - except for the planned final event.
The County Course, a private disc golf course is Louisburg with amazing history, was to be our final stop. After the schedule was made we became aware that Duke power would be making changes to their easement, which affected the course. However as recently as early summer we understood that the course would be back online and ready to go by time for our event.
Sadly today I have been informed that it just won’t happen. Weather and labor delays have prolonged the work, and the earliest date they can “give up the land” is Oct 15. This would be the day before the event, and nowhere near enough time to grade the entry road , reset baskets, etc.
Looking out at the remaining calendar, I do not see a good “viable” weekend to move the event to. (We’re lucky in NC - there’s always something going on !”)
With that said, I am refunding the entries for the event, and cancelling it.
With this cancellation, the Ahoskie tour stop will be the last event of the 2021 Fly Guy Am Tour.
