Good evening and thank you for registering for the sixth event of the Fly Guy NC Amateur Tour!
There will be NO player meeting before the event. This email serves as the player meeting. READ IT CAREFULLY AS IT DETAILS RULES OF PLAY. This email supersedes and replaces any communication before it. Likewise, any update will be sent as a reply to this original email.
It looks to be a hot day - 91 degrees and 10 mph wind. While I will be bringing water bottles, be sure to plan and pack accordingly. Also - its July NC - be prepared should the weather turn and rain arrive unexpectedly. Current Prediction is 20% chance,
The Charlotte Disc Golf Club is receiving $4 from each entry fee as a donation for their continued improvements of their courses and facilities.

Now, the event tomorrow: I am moving the usual times up 15 minutes in an effort to get an early "beat the heat" start,
7:15- We will begin registration. Tournament Central will be set up in the general vicinity of the open space between Hole 1's Long and Short tee.
You will need to follow all COVID / Social distance guidelines while around the Tournament Central .
Player Pack will be given at this time.
The Player pack will consist of choice of mold and a small bag of disc golf related swag.
As of this email there are ZERO people on the waitlist remaining - and I will not accept any day of registration.
We will close registration at 8:15 sharp.
We will call two minutes at 8:28 by sounding a truck horn. Start will be called at 8:30in the same manner. The woods are thick so be sure to "pass it along" when you hear it.
All players are starting at 8:30. Your tentative starting holewill be posted by noon on Friday; however you should check for final assignment at 8:20 day of the event.
The event info, including starting hole assignments , is located at
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/52430 .
This is a public park, and all park rules must be followed. Of course, for the duration of this event, the No Alcohol/ Substances rules ARE in effect.
Format -
Singles stroke play.
Sliding scale payout , from Trophy Only for Novice, and incremental increases as divisions climb.
There ARE Trophies for all divisions; First Only in FA4 and MA4, and up to 1,2,3 in other divisions.
Trophies have been ordered based on Registration on 6/28/2021. Should the field change and additional trophies are required, they will be shipped to the winning individuals.
Scoring -
It is our desire that every card uses the PDGA live scoring system. This is NOT the PDGA App.
You access it by going to PDGA.com/SCORES .
You will then enter an event code : FGDG
(This will not be live until the morning of the event)
From here it is intuitive scorekeeping like you do with Udisc.
All cards should keep a second, DIFFERENT card for score verification. This may be udisc, the PDGA Ap ( NOT live scoring ) etc.
DO NOT FORGET - You MUST confirm your scores in the Live Scoring system at the end of your round before leaving the tournament area.
LAYOUTS:
MA1, MA40 and MA50 Will play Long tees round 1, short tees round 2.
All other divisions will play short tees both rounds.
A separate email will be sent by the start of the event detailing the OBs for the event.
A paper copy of the OBs will be available at registration.
I will be bringing a reduced display of discs for this event, and will not have the full 4 tent FGDG setup.
Round two tee time will be announced in the park and posted to the Fly Guy Disc Golf Am Tour Facebook page. Starting holes will be posted to the PDGA results page.
Payout is via electronic voucher for those who qualify. It will be sent to the email address that you registered for the event under when signing through DiscGolfScene.
So that should be about it - we're going to have LOTS OF FUN!
Last thing - This is a PDGA event. That means PDGA competition rules of play, as well as code of conduct. If it doesn't belong in the park, leave it at home. Likewise, do not put me in the position to choose a player versus maintaining good relationships with the parks system - I'll sacrifice the player for bad conduct every time. A lot of work and cooperation goes into these facilities - and we cannot represent both the sport and the community in an ill light by breaking park rules and/or violating code of conduct protocols. Be familiar with the rules, and follow them.
