About this tournament
The Flora Chamber of Commerce is excited to host their 5th Annual Amateur Doubles Disc Golf Tournament at the Flora Rotary Disc Golf Course in Charley Brown Memorial Park in Flora, IL. If you attended last year's event, the TD was experiencing some health issues that really put a damper on the festivities. This year he's healthy and looking forward to making it an event to remember!
We would like to thank all the local businesses who are sponsoring the event as well as the Flora Rotary Club and the City of Flora for making a very nice course.
Registration Information:
This will be a trophy only event with winners for all three divisions getting a 3d printed . The players pack and other free event activities will be worth at least the cost of registration.
Each registered player will receive a players pack. The disc will be from the Chuckin' Aces DGC stock and will be your choice between 5 different molds and 3 different stamps. The Chamber stamped drawstring bag will only be available to players who register more than 2 weeks in advance since we will need time to order and have them shipped.
Player Pack Contents ($40 value):
1 - Disc from Chuckin' Aces DGC stock
1 - Custom stamped mini
1 - Drawstring bag (if registered by September 30)
1 - Pork burger, chips, and drink
Automatic entry into the cash Ace pot
Temp hole 6B (down the sledding hill) will be a $50 CTP sponsored by Flora Bank & Trust. There will also be other CTP and Long Putt prizes available!
Choose your division for registration using the following standards for the BEST PLAYER on your team. There must be at least 3 teams in any division to qualify for a trophy. Registrations will be on the honor system and will not be checked:
NOVICE - PDGA rating of under 850 with at least 1 rated round in the last year or no PDGA number having played disc golf regularly for less than 2 years. The NOVICE group will play the White tee pads.
ADVANCED - PDGA rating of 850 or greater with at least 1 rated round in the last year or no PDGA number having played disc golf regularly for more than 2 years. The ADVANCED group will play the Blue tee pads.
MIXED - The mixed division must consist of two players of different genders. There are no PDGA rating or disc golf experience limits. The MIXED group will play a mixture of White and Blue.
Tournament Info:
42 holes played - 2 rounds of 21
Standard scramble "best disc" rules.
Discs surrounded by water, on or across roads, and on top of buildings will be OB. Exact rules will be available in the caddy guide that will be emailed the week of the event.
Extra Items On-Site:
Food will be available on-site and an optional meal (pork burger, chips, and drink) will be provided free with player registration. Non-players can have the same lunch for just $5. Online registrants can choose whether or not they would like the meal.
FREE Disc Golf Clinic will be held after lunch for anyone interested in learning about the sport. The basics of throwing and putting will be covered. Practice baskets and discs will be available to use.
