About this tournament

Finding North will be a one-round, tee-time event held at Franklin Park on 7 November 2020. This event, a PDGA Pro/Am C-Tier, will be held under the PDGA Competition Endowment Program which allows for fundraiser events to still be sanctioned by the PDGA to benefit Boulder Crest Foundation.

Boulder Crest Foundation, centered in Bluemont Virginia, is the nation's first privately funder center for post-traumatic growth and has been recognized as Loudoun County Non-Profit of the Year on multiple occasions. Through the delivery of Warrior PATHH, Boulder Crest reconnects veterans and first responders to their inner warrior allowing them to transform times of struggle into strength as they learn to "struggle well".

Warrior PATHH is an 18 month program that begins with an intensive 7-day in-person indoctrination to post-traumatic growth. A review of data collected from students after completion of the 18 month curriculum revealed a 54% reduction in PTSD symptoms, 52% reduction in depression and 47% reduction in anxiety, while also seeing a 47% increase across positive-growth domains to include personal strength, appreciation of life and closeness with others. The impact of Warrior PATHH was noted by an independent evaluator who stated, "What Warrior PATHH accomplishes in 7 days what would take the current mental health system years."

Boulder Crest Foundation is proud to partner with LoCo DGC for this event and thanks them immensely for their support. LoCo DGC has a longstanding history of supporting Loudoun County organizations through events such as it's annual Ice Bowl, which has raised over $40k for Loudoun Hunger Relief since the event's inception. We hope this is the beginning of another longstanding relationship between these two premiere organizations.
