An unsanctioned BYOP doubles two round tournament. $10 from each team's entry fee will be donated to the Druid Hill Disc Golf Club, with the rest going straight to payouts! Please pick the division that seems most appropriate for your team, the event is meant to be as fun as possible.
Gold/Rose Payout - PayPal
Silver/Bronze Payout - Vouchers for merch through Eagle Mill Disc Golf.
There will be at least 2 CTP's for each division, with all of them happening during the Best Shot portion of the tournament. If we reach 54 teams, we'll do 3 per division, and at 72 teams (full tournament), we'll do 4 CTP's per division.
With using 2 courses at the same time, half the teams will play Alternate Shot the first round, while the other half plays Best Shot the first round. All teams will play the same layouts and formats, just not at the same time.
Front 18 Round:
Course: Front 18 (Legacy 1-9 & Forest Drive 1-9)
Layout: Purple (Short) to Orange (Long)
Format: Alternate Shot all 18 holes
What is Alternate Shot? Only one sequence of throws is made on each hole. The team selects a player to throw the tee shot at the beginning of the round. The other player then throws from the subsequent lie, and play alternates in that fashion until the round is completed. Alternate Shot is closer to a singles format, where one partner can't bail the other out. Whichever team member holes out cannot throw the tee shot on the next hole.
Lunch:
Bring your own lunch.
Back 18 Round:
Course: Back 18 (Legacy 10-18 & Forest Drive 10-18)
Layout: Orange (Long) to Purple (Short)
Format: Best Shot/Favorite Shot all 18 holes
Best Shot is by far the most popular doubles format. Both players throw from each lie (starting with the tee shot), then the team chooses which of the resulting lies to continue play from, until the hole is completed. Teammates do not have to throw from the same lie.
CTP, Putting, & Ring of Fire Challenges
Included at no extra cost for all divisions, we'll have 3 contests for cash (paypal). You don't have to participate in these, and you don't have to stay until the end to win. We'll record your scores and notify the winners afterwards if they are not there.
For the CTP challenge, anyone who wants to participate will take 5 throws at a designated basket. Closest to the basket for each division will win. Each division will have their own competition, so you'll only be competing against players in your division for these challenges.
For the Putting challenge, each contestant will take 5 putts each from 3 marked distances of 15, 30, and 45 feet. For every putt made, you'll receive one point. The 5th and final putt from each distance will be the "money putt", giving you two points instead of 1 if made. Highest score wins. Each division will have their own competition, so you'll only be competing against players in your division for these challenges.
The Ring of Fire will be done as one whole group, with only one winner taking home the prize. If you haven't done a Ring of Fire before, it's almost the pinnacle of disc golf chaos. Everyone participating creates one large circle around a basket and attempts to make the putt at the same time. If you miss, you're out. If you make the putt, you go on to the next round and this goes on until only 1 person is left. This event will be done after the awards, while the CTP & Putting can be done as soon as cards start coming in.
100% of entry fees (besides the designated donation amount) will be used towards payouts and tournament related items (city permits, CTP items, additional games, etc).
Ace Pot is the World of Doubles Ace Pot, which rolls over from the previous tournament if no aces are hit.
