Big ups to all the older guys who even finished. What a marathon, total round time of 13.5 hrs, avg. over 4hrs a round. A reliable fit bit recorded over 24 miles. I imagine the tournament staff were just as spent. Thanks to all volunteers, and congrats to all State Champs and "The People's Champ." My endurance training has already begun for next year...

So can anyone give me any info on the guy singing at the players party..He was awesome and I'm a fan..I especially loved the teebird. Song.
This and the comments from a few under Keith's recent post show that there are several players who are also players. I've got sound equipment (drums too) for next year if someone has the venue (even a "forgiven" Whiskey Creek)
Count me in - something I've wanted to do since my band "Charlie Void" played at Schwass' house at the 2001 State Champs. I can play bass, rhythm guitar, and vocals. I'm hoping to get in some jams at the Harvest Moon Classic @ Whitehall 9/26. The Wildman Triathalon = competeing in event, helping to run event, and jamming with the band after the event!

The thing that I liked best this weekend was not getting a tournament ace. It was not even close...
It was the look on Sue Stephens parents face as she was being introduced at the Hall of Fame ceremony. It brought a tear to my eye!
That was AWESOME stuff...
I agree. I think I saw her dad shed a tear or two. Proud parents for sure!
it was a pleasure meeting sue and her parents they were definitely proud of Sue! And an honor for me to meet them..
During the backup at Flip 2A, Sue and her dad crossed paths while he was teeing off with his group. I think it is awesome that he competes too! Was awesome to get to play some golf with her.

Sport, especially Disc Golf and THIS TOURNAMENT reminds us that individual accomplishment arises in the context of the community. Success first appears as mastering some thing: a long putt, a home run, a shrewd business deal. Without the community foundation, without the mirror we hold up to the individual, the game has no meaning. The people I have watched in Disc golf are excellent models for providing that community and receiving individual honors with deference to all the others.

Great job to all the staff and volunteers! Pulling off an event with 520 players is a major undertaking! We appreciate all you do for us and for the sport. Yes, there were a few minor hiccups, but we got through them. One minor suggestion- goliath is a huge course. A little more time to get from meeting to tee would be great. We drove back to 13, and I still only got 2 putts in before the two minute warning. After tee off there were still some guys running and lost, trying to find their hole. Bu ... more
Thanks to everyone involved Great Job!! uh...I was one of the guys running to find my Tee..that's why I play speed rounds :) And I had the privilege of caddying for Jayne a few years ago at DGGW

Wow I posted last nite and somehow it's gone. After hearing more comments from family of the owner this morn the decision mdgo and mcdgo has severed ties with whiskey creek. 2016 plans will not include course or campground. It wasn't fixable last nite and not fixable today.
They may be ignorant and greedy and we may be angry. Do not underestimate our cool-headed power to show the owners a better way. If the baskets were a MDGO investment reclaim them, even legal claims. If the course was the owner's investment, then a boycott should have them rethink their decisions. "Never" is not a position to take.
I camped at Whiskey Friday and Saturday nights, and the $10 a night was nice, with access to showers. Both nights there was a large RV that had loud music playing nearby, but they were cool and responsible party people and always turned it off by around 10:00pm. But yes the ATV's were kind of d ... more
Whiskey shouldn't be included in ANY tournament plans until they get those teepads sorted out.
Jeff Schwass September 7, 2015 at 7:40am
So I was as Suprised as everyone else to be charged for the FREE players party we were having at Whiskey Creek. I am just posting tonite that we will take this experience learn and move on. It was NOT fixable tonight way to late with the folks down there who did not understand what we were doing. Miscommunication happens. I apologize. Nothing I could do. And I tried
Paul Tribble September 7, 2015 at 3:08am
Horrible experience. Got lost in the hillbilly trails of whisky creek and missed my second round.. hopefully they can get decent teepads also.. Just my two cents.

So i left behind a red Gold Line Bolt on the picnic table on 12 and 1A yesterday at flip on accident. To whoever picked it up, i have a disc or two reward for its return. Thanks
Talk to a TD. It was still there when our group passed through.

TWO MINUTES ! good wishes for great rounds to all competing
I'm sorry; I wished you luck because I thought you were there. Didn't you earn a berth at the Midland Open? What happened?
