I have to admit, it blows me away the number of players in the high 800's ratings that still play in the MA3 division. Especially those that have won multiple tournaments in MA3. I've always been a competitive guy and pushed myself to try and play against people I consider better than me in multiple sports, maybe because I'm old and old-fashioned. I see some players with lower ratings in MA2 and MA1. I saw a lot of this in Texas and figured it was just a Texas thing because they offered MA4 in Texas in most of their tournaments so that beginners and low rated players, like below 800 and just over 800, had a chance to compete and not feel overwhelmed. Colorado rarely, if ever, offers MA4, so I just hate to see the players rated 870 and above, especially if they've already tasted multiple victories in the division, not move up into a higher division and actually compete against others of the same ratings so you're actually competing, not sandbagging. Just my take on things but you do you. I'm not in that division any more but I remember what it was like going up against players doing that all the time, not knowing anything about ratings at the time, which really hurt my rating back then.
