Welcome to Day 3 out here at North Cove!

Just a few reminders coming into today…

First off, let’s not forget about Disc in the Dark and let’s show them some love and make Saturday night a huge event!!
Secondly, we are having another poker night in the club house. Bring a buddy and play for some scrip to spend at the Innova trailer.
Third reminder is the FLYMART! We will have a few vendors on hand for everyone to shop at!

Due to unforeseen circumstances we sadly won’t be able to play on the tennis courts but we will have access to the ping pong table, foosball table, and pool table. We would love to have everyone come in and compete in a table tournament.

You may have noticed that it is a little windy outside. We lost some assets on the courses last night and are cleaning those up now. We will be communicating with the PDGA about server weather (wind) and requirements for safety throughout the day. However, we are still set to continue as normal. Good luck to everyone and I will keep you all informed! Our number one goal is fun and safety.

Just a quick reminder about dinner at Birdies bar and grill tonight! Prime rib dinner will be served between 5:30 and 6:30. After the conclusion of your round stop by the bar to pre pay (for those whom have not already done so) for your dinner order to be sure there is enough!

We will also have Blue Ridge Distillery on site doing free bourbon tasting! Trivia night will start at 6pm with a couple fun prizes up for grabs! Glow golf will kick off at 7pm and for anyone that hasn’t seen the glow course yet, it is so worth it! Thank you Adam and Disc In The Dark for sponsoring the DGMT!

This is your tournament director Callie McMorran. In this email you will find the course layout, caddy book, link to the tee-times (will be posted tomorrow), link to live scoring, projected payout, event sponsors, and more.
First, I want to thank you all for participating in this event! The DGMT has been an amazing success this season and we are looking forward to many more years!

Hole assignments: 
Here is the link to your tee-time, if this is your first PDGA Tournament please note that your tee-time can change before the event starts. ( I still have people dropping out). Also, note that your tee-time will likely change for rounds 2, 3 & 4. When you click on the link scroll down to your name, by your name will be a number under the “tee-time” column. This is the time you will be starting. Please arrive at hole 1 at least 10 mins before your tee-time.

Check-in:
(11-4)Please arrive at the course with plenty of time to go through the check-in process before the players meeting. When you arrive you will need to come to Birdie's Bar and Grill to check in behind the North Cove Pro Shop and grab your players pack. If you haven't played in one of my events before please note that I have A LOT of products to look through. So please allow yourself time to get what you want. We have lots of items for sale.
Players Meeting: 
5-6pm Wednesday at Birdies Bar and Grill, You will want to be here to get all the updates for the event. Food and drinks will be available for purchase along with two kegs. (There will be beer!)
Live Scoring:
Here is the link to the live scoring website. On every card two players will be required to keep score through this website. Yes, I said two. The PDGA has just changed the website so that two players can keep score at the same time. This allows the website to check for errors as you play your round. If you haven’t already please download the new PDGA app. This app is a game changer with live scoring and it has a built in rule book that you can use the search engine to navigate easily during your rounds. 
Access code to live scoring will be given out prior to you teeing off for round 1.

Food will be available starting on Wednesday at 3pm and will be available throughout the week.

Qualifier:

 If you're playing in the qualifier please check-in at Birdie's bar and grill before your round. We will be using UDisc for scoring and once you finish the qualifier you will get the registration code for the finale.
After round activities:
Poker Event - Thursday/Sunday night at Birdies. This will be the final DGMT event of the weekend! We will have custom chips and table toppers and a full bar to boot! The event is a $50 minimum buy in with a $200 maximum. You will have the ability to buy in twice. This event will be a Texas hold’em style event with dedicated dealers at each table. This event is 21 and older. Register at Birdies. 

Trivia Night - Friday night will be host to a fantastic night of trivia and bourbon/whisky tasting sponsored by Blue Ridge Distillery. Prime Rib dinner will be available for purchase to all players that would like to attend.  The trivia will be more pop culture with music, geography, and a little bit of nerd mixed in. Sign up as a single or put down a team name for double the fun!! Register at Birdies.

Disc In The Dark (Glow Golf) - Wednesday - Saturday. Glow golf will be each night this week (Wednesday-Saturday) and sponsored by Disc in the Dark! This event will be played on the River Run course and it will be a glow experience like you’ve never seen! Baskets will be lit with Disc in the Dark LEDs, Fairy lights will light pathways, and they will have their Halo Black Lights to help light your discs! Bring the whole family out!!

Tennis Event - Thursday Night prior to trivia. North Cove will have brand new courts installed and we will be one of the first groups to have an event! We will have room for 20 teams and will rotate groups of 4 throughout the time allotted. This is one of the hottest new sports and we are super excited to host! 

Players Party/ Fly Mart - This is open to everyone. Lots of items will be for sale with many vendors. Saturday night!

We want everyone to have the best experience possible throughout the week including the kitchen staff! If you do not pre-order we cannot guarantee that Birdie’s will have food for you. We need a head count for the steak night.

Prime Rib, Baked Potato, Caesar Salad, Cheese Cake $50

If you do not RSVP for steak night we will not have food for you. This will be hosted at Birdies bar at north cove. The full bar will be open along with having Blue Ridge Distillery on site for tastings.

The tennis/pickleball court that is going in has hit a bit of a speed bump. The court surface isn’t bouncy enough for pickleball balls as of now. I just wanted everyone to be aware of this change. We can definitely host a tennis tournament on the surface as of now. If you paid for pickleball and don’t want to play tennis we can get that refunded. I am informing people so that they know to bring pickleball paddles and tennis rackets. Regardless it will be fun!

North Cove is still trying to get this fixed so the potential for pickleball is still there.

I just wanted to give an update/info on North Cove this is a family owned course and they are still getting it off the ground. This place is amazing however, they are only a crew of about 10 people. They’re currently putting in a pickleball court for our event so they have been slammed. I know a few of you have been trying to reach them about lodging. Kyle informed me that he replied to everyone’s emails this morning on this. We all apologize for the delay! Hope to see you there!

It would be cool if there was a search option by state and possibly a sub-ranking by states. I know this is early days but it's kinda sad that there are only 8 players in MP50 represented from Idaho and only 2 of us have all 8 rounds. How can we help spread the word to other players in our older age divisions?

The finale wave of registration opens on Monday night at 8pm ET. This will include anyone and everyone who has competed in a DGMT event this year. Please note that if you played in a PDGA major this year you had to opt in for points when registering. This also applies for USWDGC which is coming up in a couple weeks. If you would like to opt in now you can PayPal me $5 and receive the invite code.

Wave 3 includes around 1100 players so please be ready to sign up.
