DGLO Championship Series #3
About this tournament
Welcome to the third event of the Discraft Great Lakes Open Championship Series!
We will be exploring the hills and valleys of Kensington Metropark's beautiful Black Locust disc golf course this month. This tournament will consist of two rounds of 18 holes each. One round will consist of holes one through eighteen; in the other, we will be playing holes nineteen through twenty-seven twice. If we get a really big turnout, we'll probably play 27 the first round and then split the field for round 2, with Pro and Am1 playing the back 9 twice and everyone else playing 1 - 18. All professional and advanced players will be playing longs on 1-18 and will play one round each from the short and long tees on 19-27. Everyone else will play short tees all day. As usual, we will have lots of CTPs and an ace pool, which is currently at $108. Each player will get one free throw to the practice basket (approx 150') after the tournament ends to try and win our treasure toss. At least 15 discs and other fun stuff are in the chest now, and if no one puts their shot in the basket, the booty will carry over to April's event at Rolling Hills. We will be offering up to five additional throws for $1 each to raise $$ for DGLO and series payouts. Entry is $20, five of which will be added to the purse’s of the Great Lakes Open. If you have not entered the series yet and you would like to earn points, a one-time, $10 fee will get you in. The top four point earners in each division will play in a final 9 after the finals at Lakeshore in July. Each player's four best tournaments will be used. There are still four events left, and three good finishes should be enough to get the job done, so don't worry if you missed the first two. The winners of the final 9 in each division with at least five players entered will earn a free entry to the Discraft Great Lakes Open on August 7-8 at Hudson Mills and Independence Lake.
Thanks for coming out and supporting our quest to make the DGLO truly spectacular this year.
