About this tournament
Good afternoon to all players competing in the 2024 Cranbury Park Classic at Cranbury Park in Norwalk, CT on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Cranbury Park is located at 300 Grumman Avenue in Norwalk, CT.
This is a Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) sanctioned C-Tier. This email is intended to serve as your players meeting and caddy guide, so read each item carefully. Below you'll find event information, as well as updated details on the steps we are taking to ensure everyone's safety in regards to COVID-19.
Anyone who has COVID-19, is exhibiting common symptoms of COVID-19, is ill, or is in direct contact with someone with COVID-19, must not participate and may be asked to leave the event. Social distancing of 6 feet between participants is strongly encouraged throughout the entirety of the event. Per the requirements of the State of Connecticut, all participants should utilize a mask or cloth face covering when in crowded areas. This would include Tournament Central, the practice baskets, and parking lots.
EVENT FEES:
The entry fee for this event varies by division. From each entry, the following will be deducted:
- $5 to the PDGA and City of Norwalk for sanctioning, insurance, permit fees, etc
The remainder of each Pro entry will be applied directly to the payout for that division.
The remainder of each Amateur entry will be used to cover the cost of their player pack. All amateur divisions are competing for trophies.
CHECK-IN and SCHEDULE:
1. Upon arrival, please come to Tournament Central (located at the Sun Room on the left hand side of the Galleher Mansion to check in. All amateurs will receive a players pack.
2. Preliminary hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA tournament webpage for the event by 9pm Friday night and will be posted as final by 9:00am after Check-In has closed.
3. There will be no players meeting, we will call two minutes at 9:28am and then start Round 1 promptly at 9:30am. Please be at your assigned starting hole by 9:25am.
4. Round 2 start time and hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA tournament webpage within 15 minutes of the last card completing Round 1. It is your responsibility to be at your hole on time for tee off for both rounds. If you are late, you will be penalized as per PDGA rule 1.05.F.
Schedule:
• 7:15am - Player Check-In
• 9:00am - Last Call for player check-in and/or walk-up registration
• 9:28am - Two Minute Warning
• 9:30am – Round 1 Tee Off
• 45 to 60 minutes after the last card in Round 1, we’ll begin Round 2
• Brief awards to announce division winners after Round 2 is completed
5. There is a $5 ace pot in effect. If an ace is hit by ANY player in ANY division REGARDLESS OF LAYOUT, that player will receive 100% of the ace pot. If no aces are hit, we will do a “Closest to Pin” throw-off on Hole 1 Blueberry.
SCORING & GROUPS:
We'll be using the PDGA Digital Scorecard for the event. Please familiarize yourself with how to use the PDGA Digital Scorecard. Please note that each individual player will need to keep score during both rounds and validate their score at the end of each round.

LAYOUTS:
• Round 1:
o All divisions will play the standard “Cranbury” layout to the Innova DisCatcher Pro28 baskets (Par 59 with five par 4s on Holes 3, 6,7, 11, and 18).
• Round 2:
o All divisions will play the standard “Cranbury” layout to the Innova DisCatcher Pro28 baskets (Par 59 with five par 4s on Holes 3, 6,7, 11, and 18).
o NOTE: If any division wishes to play the short “Blueberry” layout for Round 2, all players in that division must agree.
• Sudden Death Playoffs - any division requiring a playoff to determine a winner will use the following layout: Hole 1, Hole 2, and Hole 3 repeating as necessary using the layout played by that division for Round 2. Disc flip by TD to determine order (hot score makes first call; winner chooses to tee off first or second), with order reversing on all subsequent holes.
• TD reserves the right to make any changes to the layout for any division for Round 2 depending on weather, daylight, pace of play, etc.
COURSE INFO:
Specific Hole Rules – Standard Course
Hole 1 – All divisions play from short/regular tee. Left side of fairway as flagged and connecting to gravel trail is OB. On trail and beyond is OB.
Hole 3 – NEW HOLE … tee is located in the woods past old tee location.
Hole 10 – Over and beyond rock wall on right side of fairway is OB. OB extends infinitely in straight line defined by last two flags in all directions.
Hole 11 – Over and beyond rock wall on right side of fairway is OB. OB extends infinitely in straight line defined by last two flags in all directions.
Hole 12 – On or over rock wall as defined by flags on first throw (from teebox) is OB - you must proceed to drop zone and assess one penalty throw (PDGA waiver granted). Normal OB rules on all other subsequent throws that come to rest OB. OB extends infinitely in straight line formed by last two flags.
Hole 13 – On or over rock wall as defined by flags is OB. OB extends infinitely in straight line formed by last two flags in both directions.
Hole 14 – Gravel path on left and beyond is OB.
Hole 15 – OB begins on left side of tee box at last flag at the base of the tree, follows along the edge of the "island bush", towards Hole 16s teebox. OB then turns to the right at the base of the rock wall behind basket, proceeds towards "dog park" and continues infinitely in a straight line formed by final two flags. DO NOT PLAY FROM RUBBER TEE IN DOG PARK AREA.
Hole 16 – On or over rock wall on right side of fairway as defined by flags is OB. Beyond flags on left and behind basket are OB. Last flags on left and right side of the basket connect across path to define OB behind basket.
Hole 17 – Gravel path on right and beyond is OB.
Hole 18 – Path is in bounds at all times on Hole 18. Inside former location of bush as defined by flags is OB. Beyond flags on left and right and behind basket are OB. OB on right side of the fairway proceeds to teebox of Hole 14 and then connects to the far edge of the path. Beyond path on same side as hole 14 teebox is OB.
Specific Hole Rules – Blueberry Course
Hole 10 – Rock Wall is NOT OB
All other OB rules applicable to the standard course apply to the Blueberry course.
With all OBs, assess one penalty stroke in accordance with PDGA rules. With the exception of Hole 12, the player has the option to throw from previous lie or last point in bounds.
SPECIAL REMINDER: LEAVES ARE ON THE GROUND THROUGHOUT THE COURSE. PLEASE WATCH ALL DISCS AND USE SPOTTERS AS APPROPRIATE
Please be mindful of all park goers when throwing - politely ask any park goers to move out of your way and always send up a spotter if people are nearby. All OB is marked by flags.
AWARDS AND PAYOUTS:
Following the conclusion of Round 2 we will acknowledge the top three finishers in each division. Cash payouts for all pro divisions will be handled via PayPal and will be distributed no later than two business days following the conclusion of the event (ie: Tuesday, October 29, 2024). First place finishers in each amateur division will receive a trophy. If applicable based on division sizes, second and third place finishers will also receive a trophy.
FINAL PSA:
• This is a PDGA C-Tier event - all PDGA rules are in effect.
• The two-meter rule is NOT IN EFFECT.
• If there are any questionable circumstances on the course, play a provisional and a determination will be made by the TD.
• Please double check your digital scorecards before you submit them - there’s a 2-stroke penalty for incorrect scorecards. All players must keep score.
• If you are not planning to attend, please note that if you do not notify the TD prior to the start of check-in, you will NOT be entitled to a refund.
