Connecticut Polecat Championship

About this tournament
The event that no one asked for, but we’re gonna do anyway! The Second Annual Connecticut Polecat Championship will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at High Plains C.C. DGC in Orange, Connecticut.
This is an unsanctioned fundraiser event consisting of 1+ rounds of 9 holes. Your first round is included with your registration. Any subsequent rounds may be purchased for $5.00 each. You may only use a single Polecat and a mini marker for each round of the tournament. You may choose to use a different Polecat during different rounds. Only your best scoring round of the day will count towards any awards.
All proceeds from the event will go towards funding and supporting disc golf courses and tournaments throughout Connecticut via sponsorships. Essentially all money raised will go back into the Connecticut disc golf scene.
Divisions:
Player Pack option: You will receive a Color Glow DX Polecat and mini marker, both tournament stamped. This is everything you actually need to play this event, making this the perfect option for anyone new to the sport or wanting to play their first event. You are not required to use the player pack disc for the event if you choose this option.
No Player Pack option: You receive nothing, and will be required to supply your own Polecat and mini for the day.
A group of polecats is known as a 'chine'. Male Polecats are called 'hobs' and females are known as 'jills'. Polecat babies, or 'kits', are born with whitish fur. We hope this general information regarding polecats assists you in choosing a chine to compete in for the day. (https://www.uksafari.com/polecats.htm)
Ace Pot:
Entry to the ace pot for the event will be offered for $3. In the event that there are multiple aces during the day, the ace pot will be divided equally between all those that hit an ace. You must buy into the ace pot before starting your first round, however it is good for all rounds that you choose to play. If no aces are hit during the event, the ace pot will go towards funding and supporting disc golf courses and tournaments throughout Connecticut via sponsorships.
Rounds:
Check in will begin @ 8:30 and you may start your round as soon as you are checked in and form a card. There are no tee times or groups being assembled ahead of time. You will form your own cards of 3-4 players and go out when ready. You may play as many rounds as time allows (assuming you buy in for more), however all scorecards must be turned in by 3:00 to be official.
Ties:
Any ties for 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a division will be settled via a playoff at 3:00. Any player not present at that time will forfeit the playoff. You must be present to claim any trophy or it will be passed to the next player in line that is present.
Prizes and Awards:
There will be a brief awards ceremony at 3:00 (or after any playoffs). Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division. We will have CTP prizes on EVERY SINGLE HOLE! Additionally, each competitor will be given a raffle ticket for each round they play for prize drawings including a Dynamic Discs basket, as well as other swag packs. You must be present to claim any raffle or CTP prizes.
