Lake Front Course is playable for practice round. If it were me I’d park out by hole 8 and play from there. Early Checkin will be from 3-5 where the usdgc village usually is. We will be set up at right behind the beer wristband and token tents. Come out grab some food a beer or few and check in early. Festivities are happening out here all day so come on out!

Just keeping everyone in the loop. I have updated hole 2 with the correct distance and pin placement. We will move pin to the middle pin placement. Jeromy and I also had to make a tough decision regarding hole number 12 today. After seeing the college hole and knowing there is a baseball game that day, we have decided to adjust that hole to the college hole from last year and while it is much shorter it is still pretty difficult. We made this call for safety and pace of play reasons. We wanted to have the path in play as little as possible and put the tee box on the same side as the pin to reduce waiting for walkers on the path. You can still see where the old tee pad was if playing a practice round this week. We will move the tee box as soon as we get the OK that Nationals is finished with it. We are now full at 144 players. While I do expect some drops, we have started a waitlist and we are thrilled to have a field that is not only full, but are excited to see the talent in each division battle it out on these courses.

Lastly, if you are local and can get out next week go support the college tournament and see how they tackle the course and the other courses in the area. We are blessed with having such an event in our backyard. I am sure both the players and the staff putting on this event would greatly appreciate it!

Tomorrow I will post the caddie books for both layouts. We have been waiting for the college nationals to finalize their layouts. Because of the quick turnaround between tournaments, we will use very similar layouts as college nationals. This years layouts will play harder than last years. Meadows will be the exact meadows layout. They have added a good amount of OB and Hazard but most of it is where you would think there should be OB(tall grass, fences, parking lots). The only think that will not really change but would be on question is that hole 17 will play as a par 4. Winthrop lakefront we will be using most of the college national holes with a few modifications. On the college nationals layout hole 3 will be played from the short (throw pink tee). Hole number 8 will play to the short pin as well as hole number 13. Hole 17 will be played from the throw pink tee to the same basket as a par 4 (think original usdgc hole). You can see these layouts on the college national disc golf championship website or just wait til tomorrow hopefully by noon for the Come-See-Me caddie book. Jeromy and I know they the courses will play tougher but remember everyone is playing the same course and we would rather provide you a layout that is challenging, but also different than the layout you can play throughout the year in casual rounds. Please feel free to ask questions.

If you have any friends who are Ams that are thinking about playing please have them sign up ASAP. Because shirts have already been ordered we are thinking g about cutting off AM numbers at 100 players. This does not affect the pro field as player packs are not given to pros. But if you know any pros pass the word and have them sign up too!
