Determining PDGA Playing Age:
A player's official PDGA Age is based on their year of birth, NOT their birthday. So whatever age they will be on their birthday during the calendar tour year is their PDGA age for that entire calendar tour year and determines their eligibility for age-based divisions.
Example:
If a 10 year old player will turn 11 at anytime during the calendar year, their PDGA age is 11 for that entire calendar year so they must play in a Junior ≤12 division (or higher).
So they could do MJ12, MJ15, MJ18.
They cannot do MJ06, MJ08, MJ10.
The 'M' means mixed, so any gender can sign up.
There are also the female divisions if one chooses those (e.g. FJ10).
---
The location is the Southview Links Disc Golf Course at Southview Alliance Church in Calgary, AB. Two rounds will be played.
Scoring will be super easy and with live results. A special PDGA link will be emailed out. Simply follow the link to keep score. More details later.
We will endeavor to pair up friends for Round 1 if possible. Please contact us or use the notes field on the registration form to list friends. Cards will likely range from 2-4 players.
Bring at least one disc golf disc! Typically as people get better they get more disc golf discs and special discs. Don't be scared to participate. See our video 'A Junior Disc Golf Survival Guide' on YouTube at channel YYC DGTV - https://youtu.be/ZMvX-PT-TLI
As per PDGA rules anyone younger than 13 years must be chaperoned by an adult (PDGA Competition Manual...1.13 Youth Safety, Sec B.).
Although a two round tournament, in line with PDGA policy, participants age 10 or under can choose to play one round (PDGA Competition Manual...1.13 Youth Safety, Sec E.). HOWEVER, let us know. On the live results we will leave them unassigned for the second round with a blank score. Once finalized, they will show as DNF (did not finish) or having completed a one round tournament if their entire division only did one round.
Before or after the tee times head over to the sponsor tents to check out what they have and you never know, there may be a special activity (e.g. mini disc course competition, long throw competition, or long throw mini competition etc).
CDGC Membership (includes Airdrie Disc Golf Club)
A CDGC membership provides access to benefits including access to future tournaments and events hosted throughout the year! A membership also provides funds to help develop junior initiatives, maintain local courses and develop new courses throughout the city. A Junior Membership is in effect until the member is 18 years old!

Player Etiquette & Safety
Please go over etiquette and safety with your child! Safety concerns include, but are not limited to: getting hit by a disc, slips, trips, falls, the effect of pre-existing medical conditions and inclement weather.
We hope to keep the event safe, inclusive and fun for all those involved! Thank you for your part in making this happen. See you out there on the course!
More details will be emailed out in the days leading up to the tournament.
