Bueno Mana Work Party 2/24
About this tournament
A small, private, heavily wooded disc golf course has existed in Westhaven for the last decade. It had short holes, difficult rough, and old tone poles. Since this summer, I have been working with the property owner to expand the course into something bigger and more challenging. We have been redesigning and expanding the layout, widening fairways, skirting trees, testing out some hanging tones, and testing the course layout with a few Par Infinity members. Now it is ready for a work party to help clean up the holes a bit and get some golf in!
The Course- Bueno Mana will continue to be a private, invite only course. Currently, it is a par 57 course (6000’) with two 9 hole loops but the design likely isn’t in its final form yet. The owner’s hope is to host a small number of people for a monthly game. In the current layout, having only 3-4 groups playing at once is probably the limit for safety so this will limit capacity compared to other local courses. It will not be an Area 74 course with membership and will only be open when Ed wants it open. Showing up uninvited breaks rule #1. For those who do get to play it, we hope it adds to the diversity of amazing courses Humboldt has to offer.
Work Party- On January 6th, 2024 we will be having a work party from 10 – noon to help make the course more playable, mainly cleaning up recently cut or dead branches from the edge of fairways. After our stick pick-up, we will have a random doubles round of 18 holes to celebrate all our hard work. This could be your opportunity to help, get a round in at a fun new track, and set yourself up for future invites.
