Brown County Match Maker 1 - A Match Play Disc Golf Event
About this tournament
This is a non sanctioned, match-play, round robin, tournament organized by Brown County Disc Golf Club and benefiting the 2024 Brown County Fall Classic. The field will be limited to exactly 20 players. 4 teams of 5 (that will be drafted by the captains, details below)
$20/player (add greens fees on the day of, if not a BC3 member)
Winning team will win $320 or $64/player.
$80 will be put towards the benefit.
Rules
The highest PDGA rated players at time of entry will be the 4 designated team captains
Teams will be drafted by the team captains.
Upon selection of the teams, the team elects a manager
The manager will be responsible for assigning matchups for their teams and will control strategy for their team
Teams will face off against each other teams H2H to determine the overall champion.
Each matchup will consist of 8 Holes of Match play in best shot doubles and singles.
A matchup between teams will consist of 2 doubles matches and 4 single matches
H2H matchups
The doubles matches will start the match
The home team (Team 1) "puts up" first meaning they announce to the other captain their starting doubles pair.
The opposing team (team 2) "puts up" a corresponding doubles pair to compete in 8 hole match play (best shot)
Team 2 now "puts up" first a doubles pairing
Team 1 "puts up" a corresponding doubles team
Upon the conclusion of the doubles events, the captains reconvene and 4 singles H2H match-ups are determined by Team 2 "putting up" first.
All players must play in at least a doubles or a singles match.
Team Scoring
Each doubles and singles H2H match is worth 1 point awarded to the winning team
Each team receives 1/2 point if a H2H match ends in a draw.
The winning team is the team with the most points at the end of the matchup.
Winning team of H2H team match receives 1.5 bonus points.
If both teams end in a draw, both teams are awarded 1 point.
The team with the most points after the 3 matchups is declared the winner.
