About this tournament
I would like to start off by extending a huge thank you to the sponsors of the event.
First and foremost I need to thank the Kamloops Disc Golf Club. The KDGC sponsored the initial $750 of added cash to make the event a B Tier. The club also works hard not just the past few weeks but all year round to keep the courses in Kamloops updated and maintained. The tireless work from all of the board members and club members that volunteer is greatly appreciated.
Okanagan Disc Supply has also become an integral part of running events in Kamloops. Not only do they fulfil the role of handling Amateur prizing but the amount of donations and added support that goes back in to the disc golf community does not go unnoticed.
I also need to mention BC Disc Sports. Each year the Provincial Championships are run under the banner of the BCDS. Not only do they provide insurance to the event ( and many others through the year all over the province) but the BCDS is also a contributor to the added cash for the event.
Lastly I need to thank PDGA Canada for their continued support by way of added cash for the tournament.
As you all know the tournament had to undergo some changes in the last few weeks. Multiple user groups were all vying to use Mcarthur Island Park this coming weekend and the city decided it was best to allow all three groups access. As a result only round one can take place there and we do not have the ability to use the walking path that passes through the middle of the course. As a result the normal holes at McArthur Island will be used. However there is some added OB and some raised baskets on a few holes with a few alternate pin placements to bring a little added length and challenge to the course. The changes do not deviate too much from the tee signs and as a result they will be covered in the players meeting that I will having with each individual group.
Round two and the final 9 will be taking place at Rose Hill. There will be very minimal deviations from the tee signs on the course and they will be explained during the player meeting with each card. Tee times will start early that day, somewhere around 7:15am. The final 9 will be for ; MPO, FPO, MP40, FP40, MP50, MA1, FA1, FA2 and MA2.
IMPORTANT
Myself and Carrie Neal will be at the Sports Council building at McArthur Island from 4pm to 7pm on Friday to handle player check in and pass out the player pack item. It is located behind hole 2s tee pad in the room upstairs , enter from the front left of the building. This is not mandatory but is appreciated if you are able to be there. I will also be there from 8am to 9am on Saturday morning before tee times start.
Please be present at the first tee and ready for your players meeting as the group ahead of you is teeing off. This means being there and ready 10 minutes before your tee time.
Also, there was sadly not enough interest for the showing of the final round TCO at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday night and as a result it was not financially viable and will no longer be happening. Apologies if you were looking forward to it as I was.
The Final 9 will be for the top four scores in the division after round two is completed. It will be a shotgun start. The holes being played and exact start time will be determined on Saturday night after the Sunday tee times have been posted.

The tournament is held under the banner of the BCDS and sponsored by the organization and as a result all participants must be BCDS competitive members. If you are not already a competitive member consider doing it immediately if you plan to register. The Kamloops Disc Golf Club and Okanagan Disc Supply will be the main event sponsors and I would like to extend a massive thank you to them for all they do for the disc golf community.
The tournament is sanctioned as a B Tier and will have 1,000 in added cash to start.
We will be using the same layout as the Tournament Capital Open so if you played the TCO you will know what to expect.
It will consist of one full round each day for all competitors. After the second round there will be a final 9 holes for the top 4 scores in the following divisions ; MPO, FPO, MP40, FP40, MP50, MA1, FA1 and MA2.
Registration Schedule :
July 20th 8pm - July 27th 8pm, early registration for hole sponsors ( 48 spots @ 30$ ) and women’s and junior divisions
July 29th 8pm - September 13th 8pm, all remaining spots / waitlist
Divisions with less than three people will be collapsed.
