It's all based on ratings. As long as their PDGA rating is under 850, they can play in Novice by rule. They don't have to, but they are eligible to play in novice. Hopefully people are playing to their actual skill level, not their rating, but all we can go by from a tournament director side is their PDGA rating.

Also, they may have played an event that only offered Intermediate, so they may have had no choice. It really all comes down to their PDGA rating.

The Champaign league counts everybody as MA1 so you may see some of us have played Advanced division but are not truly that level

Its hard to set pools in such a small tournment until most of the field is registered. The schedule is posted in the about section.

Hi Connor and Dick. Completely understand wanting to know the pools, however you have to remember that registration is open until Friday, so player counts can change. Last Friday there were only 66 people signed up, and now we are up to 99. We want to try to balance out the number of players in each pool so they are both finishing about the same time. Had we announced that over the weekend, we could have evenly split it 33 to each pool, but if the 30 people that have signed up since then all happened to sign up for the same pool, then one pool would have 60 people and the other would have 30. We will get them posted as soon as possible, but want to ensure balance so half the field isn't waiting around for hours for the other field to finish.

Rounds are longer than you may be used to (4 hours sometimes) so bring good amounts of water/sunscreen/food/etc. A mini is a must as well (I can give you one day of if you dont have one). A towel for your discs, large umbrella if its raining. Whatever you normally bring to rounds

Excellent, thanks Mike! So it sounds like there's no meal break or anything. If I understand correctly this tourney will use three courses that are so close to each other. Does that mean we'll all play all courses once each? Or do different skill level groups get assigned to different courses?

Actually I think I understand better after re-reading the "About" page. This tourney will just be two rounds, one at Maxwell and the other split between Irvin and Forrest. Could still be a long day, I'll prepare accordingly. Cheers!

Pools will be announced this week, but everyone will start at either PJ, or Maxwell. Will play that round of 18 holes, and then will have 1 hour break between rounds to eat and move to the other course for their 2nd round.
