Welcome to the Black Fly Fling Legends!
We are very excited to offer an age protected event (40+) for the disc golf community!
Perhaps what make us most excited is the accessibility and terrain of the course at Tom Thomson Park. It is a very flat course with widened manicured walking paths making it an easier trek for all players. The course is centrally located close to amenities and accommodations. With the addition of short tees last year we can offer a layout that is friendly yet challenging.
We will be hosting a Pro/Am Random Doubles event the night before on Tuesday, May 13th, @ 6pm. This event is a blast and a great way to connect with friends and get some light hearted practice in. We are excited to have this event sponsored by Jessie’s Kwik-Way in South River! You’ll notice them in town as you drive through, stop in and grab some snacks or drinks for the course and thank them for their continue support.
Wednesday will be our Inaugural Black Fly Fling Legends event! This will be a one day, two rounds, 20 holes, PDGA C-tier singles event. The course will be set up in the traditional Black Fly Fling layout.
We are excited to announce this will be an Ontario Tour Qualifier event! Top 3 in each division will win a chance to compete in Ontario Provincials. Visit https://www.ontariodiscsports.ca/ for more details.
We will be updating further but we will have sponsors, vendors, players party, curated accommodations' and potential for RV parking on site. We appreciate the details and are going to cater to our players. Multiple portable bathrooms, replenishing stations with food and beverages. Spotters for convenience.
If you have not attended a Black Fly Event before they are all about communal spirit and connecting with other players while helping making a positive economic impact on the village of South River.
On our endeavor to create a special 50+ event we would be pleased to hear from the 50+ players on what would make the best tournament experience so we can add things to make the players feel heard and thought of :)
