This has been updated in the PDGA Scorecard. UDisc still shows position B for Hole 3 - UDisc doesn't like mixed basket layouts when you use the "Smart Layouts" (which we do for Welk).

I think the Hyatt Welk Resort folks are happiest when guests wear traditional golf attire. That being said, I have paid my greens fee and played there wearing a clean, un-torn t-shirt and shorts. As long as you're not wearing something with offensive language and your clothing covers what needs to be covered in order to avoid distracting other players...you should be fine.

There is a drainage canal running through the course. The flat concrete bottom of this canal/ditch/creek plays as Hazard. If you are on the side slope along the canal, no penalty. But if you are on the flat bottom portion, surrounded by concrete, it's hazard.

The hole notes in the PDGA Digital Scorecard has all of the OB and Hazard notes for each hole. Make sure to read those notes before you tee off on each hole.

Thanks Allen. I think the only thing that wasn't fairly obvious were the areas where trees had fallen and are surrounded by cones. Some of them have white lines and some don't. I think this applies to left of 3, and if you go skip deep right on 7/deep left on 17. We've been playing casually where it lies.

I'm going to look at both of those areas this afternoon. If it looks unsafe we'll move the baskets. If it looks generally safe we MAY use paint to mark casual relief. I will post a comment here this evening with an update.

We moved basket #3 to the A position, which should limit the number of discs that come close to the downed tree. We determined that the area past basket 7 is uneven, but not unsafe.

I went to the Welks website and it mentioned we'll be playing from the front of the short ball golf tees. I or it could be wrong.

Here's the current best guess (which will be finalized by Monday, 9/18): We're expecting that all MP divisions will play from the paver pads. All F divisions will play from the Front/Grass pads, which will be marked at the front of the grass golf tees. MA1/MA2/MA40/MA50 will play from pavers. MA3/MA4/MA60/MA70 will play from Front/Grass. This is an estimate. Final pad assignments will be added to the "About" section of this page on or before 9/18.

Also, please post a link to the Welk website where they mention we're using the front of the short ball golf tees. I was not aware that they posted that level of detail about disc golf.

Thanks for the link. I manage the UDisc layouts for Welk, so I wrote that description. I was purposefully vague on UDisc, because the final decision on layouts hadn't been made when I created the layout. ;-)

The division combining is a result of so many divisions and the number of awards. So by reserving the right a TD has options. In this case Glenn has plans to make awards for ALL divisions. What a Guy!!
