Competitors playing Sweetwater and Conocido: We are giving 12 inch from either side of the tee pand and 12 inches behind the teepad for player safety. 
At Sweetwater hole 15 teepad will be moved to the left in the grass for your safety.
Thunderbird Disc Golf Course has been greatly affected by the rain. It is now a river. It is unfortunate, but Thunderbird is now unplayable and we have to cancel the 4th round for the following divisions:Amateur Masters Women 40+: 2, Amateur Masters 50+: 17, Amateur Masters Women 50+: 2, Intermediate: 20, Intermediate Women: 1, Recreational: 30, Junior ≤18: 3, Junior ≤15: 2

 These divisions should come see Jay at Dynamic Discs Phoenix for your trophies.The top 40% will receive a trophy.

Seems like there was a little confusion on hazard and out of bound if you're laying in the river sidewalk or you cross over A curb or painted line out of bounds, that takes precedence over missing the hazard. you take your penalty stroke from where you were last in bounds, if you did not land in the hazard and you're on the grass you play your hazard stroke from where your disc lies with a penalty.

AZ State Championship Competitors,

This is the official player meeting. The tournament staff welcomes you to the 2022 Arizona State Championships. Welcome to the WESTSIDE of the valley.

All PRO and PRO are as follows; MPO, FPO, MP40, FP40, MP50, FP50, MP60 and FP60 along with MA1 and MA40 these divisions will be playing the same tee pads, out of bounds, hazards and course rules.



Event Schedule:

Friday: Round 1. Pickup player packs at your starting course. Check in for ams starting at 10:30am Hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA event page. 12pm tee time.

Saturday: Round 2 starts at 8am. There will be a 90-minute lunch from the time the last card finishes at your course. Round 3 hole assignment and starting time will be posted on the PDGA event page.

Sunday: Round 4 starts at 930 am.

Course Parking:

Thunderbird: Tournament central will be located off of 56th Ave and Eugie. The parking lot for the medical building in the back at 5601 W Eugie is available. There is a security guard in a golf cart. Please be mindful of your extracurricular activities so we do not lose this parking lot. This includes adult beverages as well as any legal smoking products. We have parked here for years, LET’S NOT BE THAT GROUP.

Sweetwater: There is several parking lots around the course. There is also street parking along hole 17. Please try and pick a parking lot that is close to your starting hole.

Conocido: Parking is first come first serve. There is plenty of street parking along with the parking lot. Be mindful of where you park as your car might get hit by incoming discs. We are not responsible. There are a lot of regular park goers (dog walkers, kids, cyclists etc.). Please be aware that they have the right of way.



If your disc goes over a wall DO NOT USE YOUR RETRIEVER OR JUMP OVER THE WALL. This will result in an automatic disqualification from the event.

These courses are at public parks. Pedestrians, dog walkers, bicyclists, children etcetera. They have the right of way. Please be mindful of your surroundings.

Awards will be held at Conocido following the last round and playoffs.

Playoffs: In the event of a tie for first place in all divisions. Players will playoff at Conocido park starting at hole 1, hole 2, hole 5, hole 10 and hole 11. If the tie is not broken then players will repeat the order until a winner emerges.

We have a lot of trophies, for example, there are 19 trophies for MPO. All ties after 1st place need to CTP for the trophy. You will still split cash according to the PDGA guidelines. IE 4th, 5th and 6th place tie will throw a CTP for the trophy. Then 4th, 5th and 6th place will split the cash.



HAZARD rule: If you do not land in the island, you play your disc as it lies with a penalty stroke.

If you go out of bounds or land in the sidewalk river THIS IS NOT A HAZARD. You play your lie from where you were last in bounds with a penalty stroke.

You will get one penalty stroke for out of bounds or one penalty stroke for landing outside of the marked island. You cannot be double stroked.

Has anyone gotten sick after this tournament? cough? or feeling less energy? I ask because 12 days after this tournament I was coughing up blood. Took just over a week of testing and have results of Valley Fever. It is not contagious, but it comes from spores in the soil. After the soil has been disturbed (like clearing brush and trees). The incubation period is 7-21 days. Those courses we played definitely not the cleanest places to play. Not sure that is the spot I picked it up, but just in case anyone has symptoms like these. Go get yourself checked.

If they don't have it fixed or by the latest tonight, how do we know where to show up to tomorrow morning? Could you at least take a screenshot or something of what you have and post it on Disc Golf scene so anyone who hasn't seen it can see it.
