A3disc Club Fall League Information
Anyone may play in this A3 Fall Doubles Bag Tag League, regardless if you were a member of A3 Summer Leagues; however, this is a closed league, and there is a one-time $15 membership fee. Fees must be paid before league rounds will be tracked. Replacement fee for a lost tag is $10. Casual players that want to play, but cannot participate in the league will not be paired up with bag tag holding members.
The $15 goes to pay for the Bag Tag ($5) and all other monies will go to CASH or plastic payouts at the end of the season. The cash will be split into two pots. 75% will be paid to the top bag tags and 25% will be paid to the individual with the lowest total average of their rounds, with a minimum of 7 rounds recorded. Here is how the payouts will work. If 20 tags are sold, the top 3 tags will pay out. If 30 tags are given out, the top 4 tags will pay out. If 40 or more tags are in play, we will pay out 5 tags. The payouts will be rounded to the nearest round number as determined by the league coordinator, but will be close to the following percentages: If 3 tags paid out, 1st = 60%, 2nd = 30% and 3rd = 10%. If 4 Tags paid out, 1st = 50%, 2nd = 25%, 3rd = 15% and 4th 10%. If 5 Tags paid out, 1st = 45%, 2nd = 22%, 3rd = 16%, 4th = 11% and 5th = 6%.
To be eligible for the FULL cash payouts at the end of the season, a player must regularly participate. To be eligible for FULL cash payouts, a member must play a minimum of 5 rounds AND put their tags on the line the last Saturday of the league, December 13 (the fifth round can be December 13). If any top tags are not present on the final week, the payouts will be awarded to the top tags that are present. Please take this into consideration before signing up for this league. (In other words, don’t win the #1 tag and disappear with it, even in week 12. You won’t get paid just for having it in your possession. Also, if you can’t make the final round, for any reason, you will not get a payout, regardless of your tag.) If a player wins a top spot and does not have the minimum 5 rounds recorded, their payout will be half cash, half plastic.
The Winning Place for lowest average will be based on all rounds played, with a minimum of seven rounds. This is regardless of partner, course, bag tag or any other condition.
A3 Fall Bag Tag Doubles League Details:
The Fall Bag Tag League will start on Saturday, September 20 and run through Saturday, December 13, for a total of 13 weeks. This Fall League 2014 will be on Saturdays at 10:00am, meet at 9:30am. We will not be able to wait for players not present at 10:00am. Courses are set for all weeks, so please refer to the schedule to see where we are playing each week.
- The doubles format for this league will be “best shot†according to the PDGA Best Shot Doubles rules.
- Your BAG tag belongs on your BAG. You must bring it to the league round. I will address forgotten tags on a case by case basis during the season.
- Teams will be determined by drawing bottle caps numbered 1-46. If there are an odd number of players, all drawn caps will be reshuffled and a single number drawn will be “Cali.†All other players will team up in numerical order.
- Your position will be determined by the bag tag you earn. For each doubles team, the person arriving with the higher tag will leave with the higher tag. Tags must be played for at any time, whether it is a casual doubles or singles round or game of any other type. If tags change hands, feel free to send me a text or a message on DGS reporting old and new tags for players involved.
- If we have an odd number of players and a “Cali†is needed, they will also play by PDGA Best Shot Rules: One extra shot per hole, and the “Cali†player may choose which shot they want to play.
- $3 Ace Pool is optional. (With only 13 weeks, I want to grow the Ace Pool a little quicker.) Cash CTPs will be returning, 1 will be 100% and one is 50/50. Since this is a closed league, ace pools and CTPs will only be eligible to Bag Tag holding members and will only pay to individuals paid in at the beginning of the rounds.
- This is not a point league, so there will be no additional points earned for playing or winning rounds. Cash games on the side can be considered and are encouraged.
- To discourage “sand bagging†for lowest average numbers, anyone with 10 or more rounds will have the option to drop their highest score as a “bonus.â€
* - Hazards and OB will be played as a group vote before the round. When there is a question about in-out of bounds, majority decision will be the rule, or play a provisional and bring the issue to my attention after the round. Mark the questionable for later review.
Unpaid Ace pool money will pay out with a CTP at the end of the season. Payout will be 80/20, with 20% going to the A3 Course Improvement Fund. Players must be present, enter the Ace Pool for the day and play the last round to be considered for the CTP.
