The first round everyone plays the same tees since it's a points round, not stroke. You're aiming for birdie or better. Most of the tees are short. If they are long the par goes up. For juniors (12 and under) usually I add a par to some of their holes that may be difficult. My has played the last 2 years and he's 8. He's not big into disc golf but loves it anyway. NEW DISCS! :) As far as others, I tell people to register as general and you can decide at anytime. Even that morning as to how you feel with the discs. It's fairly laid back since it's unsanctioned and for charity.

The second round is stroke play but based on division. Usually junior, women, rec play the same as the first. It would be classified as red tees or the shorts. I play everyone the first round at the same tees so you can choose your group. Since it's the 6th year, there are a lot of regulars that love to play in the same group. This makes that possible for the first round.

If you've never played a tournament before though recognize that this is a all day commitment and in the woods for most of it so come prepared with bug spray, sun ... more

If you've never played a tournament before though recognize that this is a all day commitment and in the woods for most of it so come prepared with bug spray, sun block and patience. Also rules are expected to be followed (proper shot from lie, no jumping from within the circle, proper play order, etc.) as you'd expect from any tourney (don't want you to be turned off by a harsh word by another player).

That is a great reminder Pete, thank you. I will definitely work with my son to make sure he understands all that if he decides he wants to come. We are currently working on the inside the circle putting balance. I know he wants to try a tourny, but no idea how we fares with other kids his age so don't want him to get discouraged since he currently loves disc golf

Jake, This is a great tournament to start with. It is a lot of fun, great for a family and very welcoming.
