Due to the potential for hazardous road conditions following the coming storm on both Saturday and Sunday morning and the hazards of snow and ice weight on trees already weakened/leaning from Helene, I am postponing this tournament until Sunday Jan 19. 

If you cannot play this day, you can request a 100% refund until 12 pm Jan 10th. After that, we return to normal refund structuring.

On whatever day we play, be prepared for snow and ice on the ground in places. Also Snow rules will be in effect so you are able to add ribbons to your discs to prevent lost discs if you wish.

I will make a decision on the weather on Wednesday. The options are to stay with Saturday, or move it to Sunday. I will let everyone know as soon as I can.

Pros can play as AMs as long as their rating meets PDGA requirements. I believe it is below 970 rated.

Also, if you are replaying. It sounds like we will have to use the blue flagged tees on both Champion and OG hole 10. Shaver Rec will not permit volunteers to clear the trees.

I am watching weather coming in the forecast for Friday night. I will make a call on Wednesday on whether we will stay as scheduled on Saturday or change to Sunday. The forecast is just not super reliable this far out. I will do all I can to keep it Saturday if I feel it is safe to do so.

Wow what’s the deal with not offering MPO in this tournament anymore. You can’t tell me it’s due to lack of people playing? 12 MPO players last year.

Looking at all my events in 2024, I average 1-2 pros per event. I have decided in 2025 to go AM only.

Maybe you could draw more pros if you didn’t run so many tournaments at dolly and other easy courses that don’t rate well.

I appreciate the feedback. It's a fine line to find courses that everyone loves. Golden Grove events are probably one of my toughest courses and hey do not fill with ams or pros. The good news is there are plenty of events to choose from these days. I know DSD, and Joe/Rob still offer Open divisions.
