The Putnam County Founding Flyers are excited to host the 4th Annual Putnam County Classic - A PDGA sanctioned C-Tier. This will be a two (2) round event hosted at Valley Park in Hurricane, West Virginia. All divisions will play two (2) rounds from short tees aside from MPO, FPO, MA1, and MA2. These divisions will play one (1) round from long tees in the morning and one (1) round from short tees in the afternoon.

EARLY REGISTRATION will open July 1st at 8:00 PM for those that wish to sponsor the event. The first tier of registration will have 18 opportunities for sponsorships. Donations of $25 will get players early access to registration as well as your name, message, and/or business information on a sign that will be displayed on the course on the hole of your choice. Please send sponsorship information to tournament staff so that you can be represented at our event. All funds that are raised will go towards making the event bigger and better. We’ll be sure to give our sponsors a shout-out in this year’s media package.

GENERAL REGISTRATION goes live August 2nd at 8:00 PM. The Classic sells out every year so be prompt to get your spot. Our field will be capped at 72 players (4 players per card on 18 holes). Players on the waitlist that do not get in the event will be refunded their tournament entry (minus the required fees from Disc Golf Scene).

FORMAT will be shotgun start singles. Please see the event schedule for details. Times are approximate for the afternoon and any changes will be announced in a timely manner. After a lunch break there will be new tee assignments posted for round two based on scores from round one.

ACE FUND will be set at $100. This is included in registration. A hole-in-one will earn the thrower prize money. Multiple aces will split the $100 ace pot evenly. Only aces in the first two rounds will be counted. Playoffs to decide on winners for divisions are not eligible for the ace pot. If no one hits an ace during event we will have a throw-off after the 2nd round. The closest to the pin on the throw-off will take home half of the ace fund ($50) and the other half will be added to the 5th Annual Putnam County Classic to cover PDGA fees.

CTP’s (Closest to the Pin) will also be included in registration. Several holes will be designated as CTP holes and the player who gets closest to the basket on their drive will win the prize assigned to that hole.

EARLY REGISTRATION – Will be held Friday October 29th at Valley Park from 4:00 to 6:00 and will be open to anyone that wants to stop by. Registrants may complete an early check-in and pick up players packs. The course will be open for practice. There will also be raffle tickets up for grabs (see below for info). We will have a putting contest set up for anyone that buys at least one (1) raffle ticket. Winners may pick up their prizes at the conclusion of the putting contest or on Saturday at Tournament Central.

RAFFLES – A variety of raffle items will be up for grabs. Raffle tickets will be for sale on Friday and through lunch on Saturday. Winners will be drawn during round two so that players may claim their prizes at the conclusion of our event. Tickets are $1 each and any proceeds will go towards course improvements in Putnam County. Anyone may purchase raffle tickets even if you don’t play in the main event. Please consider supporting your local club and taking a chance on winning some disc golf gear!

LUNCH – Is an optional add-on to your registration. Southside Sliders will be on site and have put together a $10 special for registered players which will include two sliders, tots, a drink, and dessert. Please make your personalized order when you pick up your players pack. Other options are minutes from Valley Park but we do encourage players to support the local businesses that support local disc golfers.
