About this tournament
WELCOME to the 45th Annual Minnesota State Championships!!!
We are sending out some information prior to the start of the event so that everyone knows some of what to expect. If you have questions, please let us know on Disc Golf Scene or via email.
PDGA Live Scoring
As always, official scores will use PDGA Digital Scoreboard. Keep score using the PDGA Live app or at www.pdga.com/score
The access code is: mnstate
Tournament Format
All divisions will play two rounds on Saturday - one round at North Valley and one at Kaposia. Order of play is posted below. After Saturday’s rounds there will be a cut to reduce the field size to the payout line. All open fields will be cut to 40%, and all amatuer fields will be cut to 45%. If there is a division of two, both players will make the cut. The remaining players will play one round Sunday at Kaposia. Round 1 will start promptly at 9:00am on Saturday. Round 2 will start approximately one hour after the last card has confirmed their score from Round 1. Check the PDGA Live app or PDGA website for the start time and starting hole of your second round. Round 3 will start at 10:00am on Sunday. Schedule can be found on Disc Golf Scene as well.
The order of play for each pool on Saturday is listed below:
Pool A (MPO, MP40, MP50, MP60, FPO): Kaposia, North Valley
Pool B (MA1, MA2, MA40): North Valley, Kaposia

Player check-in is from 7:30-8:30am at the starting course for your pool. Amatuer players can pick up their player packs. Finally, if you have any questions about the course, check-in is the time to ask.
Layouts
All divisions will play the same layouts on both courses.

This information will also be included in the PDGA Digital Scorecard.
Round 1 Hole Assignments
Hole assignments for round one will be posted Friday evening at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/84328. The order of the courses you will play is already set and listed above, but the Round 1 hole assignments are not posted earlier because player drops and late additions continue to change groupings. Regardless of when you check these hole assignments, please make sure to check again on Saturday morning after the players meeting before heading to your hole. Be sure to refresh the page, as old information is sometimes cached in phones and updated information is not displayed.
Online Scoring
All official scores will be done through PDGA Digital Scoreboard. Simply use the PDGA Live app or go to www.pdga.com/score to get started. The access code is: mnstate. These scores will be official and authoritative. If you confirm an incorrect score, that is the same as turning in an incorrect physical scorecard and you would be penalized. Most importantly don’t forget to click confirm on your round at the end - simply entering the scores of the last hole is not enough.
Ace Pools
There will be three optional ace pools ($1, $5, and $20) available. Sign up for the ace pools during check in before the first round starts on Saturday. If an ace pool is not hit, there will be a throw off for the money after Round 3 on Sunday. If you don’t make the cut, you are still welcome to return for the throw off.
MFA
The Minnesota Frisbee Association has been doing some great things over the last couple years! Help show your support by stopping by the MFA tent, picking up a disc or a shirt, and becoming a member! Or better yet, join right now at https://minnesotafrisbeeassociation.com/
Payouts
The MFA wants to do everything it can to help bring the Minnesota disc golf scene together. Last year, In an effort to do this, we created a unique model for the AM Payouts at the Minnesota State Championship. While payouts will be available on site on Sunday with a few different vendors, we will also allow you to spend your funny money at a number of places throughout Minnesota. If you choose not to redeem your funny money on site, you can use it within 6 months with any of the following vendors: Gotta Go Gotta Throw, Gray Duck Disc Golf, Blue Ribbon Pines, Trees of Peace, Treasures of the Forest, Twin Town Throwdown, Cedar Creek Open, Airborn Disc Golf, and the Minnesota Frisbee Association. Even if you don’t redeem on site, you MUST claim your funny money in person before leaving. Payouts will be finished QUICKLY, so don’t run off if you cashed. We will NOT keep an active ledger of unclaimed prizes. All unclaimed funny money will be used by the MFA to provide prizes for future events and donations.
Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw from the tournament, please go into Disc Golf Scene and do so immediately. All PDGA rules for refunds will be followed. At this stage, refunds are only possible if someone is found to take your place.
See you on Saturday!!!
