Join the Honolulu Disc Golf Association (HDGA) for the 29th Annual Flyin' Hawaiian Open. This is a PDGA C Tier event that will be held at the beautiful Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. Come experience this challenging temporary course setup just for this event! All cash sponsorships will be split between both pro and am divisions!
Where is Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden?
The Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden is located at 45-680 Luluku Road, Kāne'ohe, Oahu, Hawaii 96744.
The two-day event will include one round of 27 holes Saturday, and one round of 18 on Sunday.
Final determination of the rounds played each day will be determined at tee-off, at the discretion of the tournament director.
*Final determination of Divisions will be made prior to the start of the tournament. If there are fewer than 4 players in any division, that division may be collapsed into a related division (i.e. Grandmaster division could be collapsed into the Master division).
Practice Round: We should have the course available for practice or to hold a doubles round, by mid-afternoon on Friday, September 20 (time: TBD). It really depends on how much assistance we have setting up the course. Keep checking the HDGA website (https://www.honoululdiscgolf.com), or our Facebook page closer to the event date for more details.
CAMPING is Available. We will make our best efforts to accommodate all that wish to camp. It is $15 extra to camp. Currently we already have 6 sites reserved for us for the weekend. MAKE SURE to let us know in registration if you will be camping or not. That said, other locations in the park will become available 2 weeks prior on the permitting website for Ho’omaluhia. We will be in the Nui campgrounds, and there will be other sites available in the same campground. We have enough space for 60 people and 18 cars.
Parking Pass for the Weekend:
If you are camping with HDGA, get a copy of a camping permit from ALEX (TD) or Allen Borsky (ATD) prior to 4p the first day you are staying. Easiest place will be at check in at the Nui Pavilion Saturday morning or durring the lunch break and place on the dash of your car. If you are planning on trying to camp Friday and arrive after 4p, please message Alex and we can get you your camping permit so you can come in on the later gate if needed.
If you are not camping, please make sure to check your email regarding parking week of the event. We anticipate a similar situation as we had at the challenge ‘24 with non-campers being required to utilize other lots than the Nui lots.
Gate Openings:
The gate at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden is open daily from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, cars with camping permits or car passes may use these later gate times below:
Openings:
5:30 pm – 6:30 pm (entrance and exits)
9:00 pm – 9:15 pm (for exits only)
Amateur division players will receive a players pack and top finishers in each division will receive trophies.
AM player's pack will include an event stamped disc, and event t-shirt. Players must have registered by August 18, 2024 to guarantee an event t-shirt.
ACEPOT is $10 and is across all divisions. $5 for the first day. Second day $5, if no ace was hit during first round previous pot will carryover into second day. If no ace is hit either day we will hold a throw off at the completion of the tournament.
For the CTP each day. There will be two winners each day. One for Open players, and one for AM players, Female Divisions will also have two respective CTPs for each day. less
