Hello everyone,
Thank you all for registering for the CSUMB Otter Open held on the Cypress and Oaks disc golf courses! We are happy to be celebrating our 26th Annual Otter Open this year! We are also proud to be part of the NorCal Series! Lastly, we are honored to showcase our new Mach VII's on both courses. With some freshly added number plates as of these last few weeks.
We have 7 additional putting practice baskets. We have 2 located near the meeting house (Tournament Central), 2 near hole 1 of oaks fairway on the right hand side near the parking lot, then we have 3 behind hole 8 along inter-garrison rd.
Our tournament central for the weekend will be the CSUMB Meeting House. It is conveniently located near hole 1 of both courses. Unfortunately there is no free parking on CSUMB campus and you will have to pay $5.00 per day to park. We recommend you buy a two-day pass (so you don't have to go to the kiosk again on Sunday) and park in the Alumni & Visitors Center parking lot (use Parking Lot 97, Campus Center, Seaside, CA for Google Maps). When this parking lot fills up, there is an additional parking lot to the side of Hole 1 Oaks off of Divarty Street. Please ensure you visit a parking kiosk and buy a pass. You will be ticketed by parking enforcement if not!
There will be a mandatory check-in at the Meeting House starting at 7:15am and ending at 8:15am. Please try to arrive early to ensure our start time! We hope to distribute player packages in the morning, so this is important! At 8:15am we will have a mandatory players meeting. We will send you off to your starting holes ASAP and start the 1st round at some point between 8:45 and 9:00am.
Amatuer players packages will include many items, as this is a trophy only event with large players packages. No scrip payout. AMs will receive a shirt, hat, stickers, choice of one Innova Disc, and one DGA Disc. Pros may the best one of you win :)
The "A" Pool, which consists of all Professional divisions and Advanced Men, will play Oaks, Cypress, Oaks. The "B" Pool, all Amateurs besides AM1, will play Cypress, Oaks, Cypress.
You will return to the Meeting House after the 1st round. We will not be providing lunch. There are a few places close by to grab a quick bite to eat. But please be prepared and bring your own lunch if possible. Lunch may end up being shorter than one hour for slower groups, as we may be forced to start to ensure everyone finishes in the daylight. Other groups will get more than an hour. It is the nature of our courses and I appreciate your understanding. At some point during the lunch break, I will determine a start time for the "B" Pool 2nd round at Oaks and the "A" Pool 2nd round at Cypress. Starting holes and start times for the 2nd round will be posted to PDGA. There will be no players meeting. I will simply state the start time, and you will need to travel to your starting hole and be ready to go. Please plan on it taking up to 15 minutes to walk out to the Oaks, depending on your starting hole. Once the "B" Pool is started on Oaks, we will then get the "A" Pool started out at Cypress approximately 30 minutes later.
On Sunday, no check-in is required. We will not be having a players meeting on SUNDAY. Sunday's one round will start at 8:00am tee time.
After the 3rd round on Sunday, we will be holding a CTP contest, as well as selling raffle tickets. Again, lunch will not be provided, but you will have time to grab something and make it back in time for the raffle and awards. Please stick around, as the raffle is shaping up to be a very good one! And with only one round on Sunday, we should be able to get everyone on the road at a very decent hour! Pro payout will be paid out via paypal.
I'll be sending out another e-mail tomorrow (Friday) on info needed regarding the PDGA live scoring. Also, starting hole assignments will be posted by tomorrow.
I have added the course maps and rules to this email.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me.
Lastly, I would like to add if anyone has DISC FOR DONATIONS for our KIN 141 Disc Golf. Our supplies have dwindled since COVID-19 and we are starting to get more and more students involved. The more the merrier :) and thank you in advance.
Thank you all! Please be prepared for the weather.
