CAN AM CUP TEAM MATCH PLAY TOURNAMENT RULES

Rosters, including substitutes, must be submitted as final by the close of registration (10 pm July 14, 2024), to insure roster eligibility. Team entry fees must be paid in full by July 10, 2024.

Roster positions: Open 1, Open 2, Master (age 40+), Woman, Amateur 1, Amateur 2. Master player’s age is based on their year of birth NOT their birthdate. Ams must never have accepted Can Am Cup or PDGA tournament cash. A majority of the team (4/6) MUST be from the same geographic area (within 60 mile radius).

Tee Assignments:
GOLD TEES -- Open 1, Open 2, Masters.
WHITE TEES -- Women, Am 1, Am 2.

Teams may also register up to two substitute players. Teams can substitute up to two eligible roster players during the tournament, but only at the beginning of a new match. Once a player is substituted for they may not return to play more matches. Teams may not move players between roster positions once the tournament has begun. SUBSTITUTIONS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATOR AND THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY THE TEAM CAPTAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND PREFERABLY BEFORE THE SUBSTITUTION IS MADE.

Pool play: 9-hole matches against same roster players from other teams in your pool. Earn a team point for winning more holes in match than opponent. Earn a ½ point for a tie.

A match is forfeit if a player does not show at the designated tee by the time the last match of a round is ready to play. A forfeit earns one team point for the winner by a score of 1 Up and 0 holes to play.

Scoring: matches that are over before the nine holes are finished are not necessary to complete. Scores for matches are reported as the number of holes up and the number of holes remaining in the nine-hole match when the match was closed out. Thus, Player A who is up by two holes with only one hole remaining reports the win as 2up and 1. In this instance, Player B would be "dormie" at the beginning of the eighth hole as they would need to win the last two holes to salvage a tie in the match.

NOTE: SCORECARDS FROM POOL PLAY MATCHES THAT ARE NOT TURNED IN TO TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATOR BY 7 PM SATURDAY WILL RESULT IN BOTH TEAMS IN THAT MATCH BEING PENALIZED 1/2 POINT.
