Happy Johnny Roberts Memorial Week,

This is our favorite time of year! We get to run an event that is not your standard disc golf tournament. The goal of this event is to have the most fun! Veteran players of this event and new players both will find that we aim to celebrate being together, celebrate the Colorado Frisbee Family, and celebrate the life and legacy of one of Colorado Disc Golf’s founding fathers, Johnny Roberts.

Here are some things you need to know to make the event successful:

· Saturday: Player check-in and player pack item pick-up, ALL PLAYERS! - 7am to 7:45am at the Optimist Course

o We will not have player pack items at the Pessimist course. You must check in!

· All players meeting at 7:50am at the Optimist Course at the shelter near the restrooms.

o Honor the legacy of Johnny Roberts

o Spirit of Johnny Awards

o Costume contest winners

o Event format and rules

o Sponsor acknowledgements

o Group Howl!!

· Round 1 to begin at 9am at both courses.

· Card assignments will be announced AFTER the player meeting

· Maps and specific course rules are attached to this email

· No dogs and no alcohol allowed during tournament play

· Every team must keep score. Digital scoring is preferred.

· The format:

· Pool A: MPO, MP40, MP50, MA1, MA40

· Pool B: MA50, MA2, MA3, Mixed Gold, Mixed Blue

o Saturday: Optimist Course, Best Drive

§ Both players drive from the tee. Choose the best drive of the two. The player’s who's drive is not chosen will be the only player from the team to throw the team's next shot from the “best drive”. Alternate which player throws shots until the entire hole is completed. Repeat the sequence on each hole.

§ Pool A plays this in the afternoon

§ Pool B plays this in the morning

o Saturday: Pessimist Course, Best Shot

§ Both players drive from the tee and then will choose the best shot, and both throw from that lie until the hole is completed.

§ Pool A plays this in the morning

§ Pool B plays this in the afternoon

o Sunday: both courses, best shot

§ Pool A plays Pessimist

§ Pool B plays Optimist


The courses are already set with baskets in the correct place. We will be bagging the baskets that are not in use at both courses on Thursday or Friday along with the marking of the OB and drop zone areas.
