SUMMARY

Newly founded Okaloosa County Disc Golf Club bag tag opening tournament at Boggy Bayou DGC in Niceville. Players finishing after the top 50 places will have their tag mailed to them.

The 2024 OCDGC Tags are the first of its kind in the entire state of Florida, and are going to pretty SWEET!! They are NFC & QR compatible bag tags purchased from DiscGolf.Cloud (https://store.discgolf.cloud/) and are uniquely encoded and paired with a digital tag which will allow for easy leaderboard tracking and tag management for all players via the club subscription to the included on-line web applet.

This event will be a 1-round, 27-Hole Shotgun Start (layout may change based on weather) at Boggy Bayou DGC. We are finalizing some plans right now. The layout will be put on UDisc after it is decided. Every player will be playing from Whites layout no matter their division

This tournament will use the Official Rules of Disc Golf from the PDGA for play.

This tournament is set up as a fundraiser to benefit the Okaloosa County Disc Golf Club, a newly founded community disc golf organization. The club will soon be applying for its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. All proceeds will go directly to supporting disc golf in Okaloosa County, Florida to include Boggy Bayou DGC, The View DGC, Bomber Run DGC, Ferry Park DGC, and future disc golf course projects!

Players may register into Ratings-Based Divisions:

$30 Registration Fee:
RPA - Gold [rating 970+]
RAH - Blue [rating <970]
RAD - White [rating <935]
RAE - Red [rating <900]
RAF - Green [rating <850]
RAG - Purple [rating <800]

$10 Registration Fee:
TAG - Club Membership/Tag Only

$30 entry:

All players will receive a player package of a club membership and DiscGolf.Cloud bag tag (pictures in the event "Pictures" tab).

Payout to top 40% of divisions facilitated via gift cards to Fly Free Disc Golf and Pickleball in Ft Walton Beach.

Optional $5 Ace Pot & Optional $5 Cash CTP available.

There will also be a Ring-of-Fire throw-off competition at the end for chances to win gift cards for Fly Free Disc Golf and Pickleball, a disc donated by Michael Daly AKA "Swamp Guy", custom dyed discs donated by DyeingForOurSins Disc Dyes, and more!

If no Ace is hit, there will be an 50/50 Ace Pot CTP throw-off following the round before tags are dispersed. 50% of the Ace Pot will go to the CTP winner and the other 50% to the Okaloosa County Disc Golf Club.

PARKING

You may park in the parking lot next to the Boggy Bayou Course Sign and along the easement road lining the edge of the sports complex. Tournament central will be set up next to the Boggy Bayou Course sign.

EVENT WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS

The Okaloosa County Disc Golf Club is responsible for all refunds/cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the timelines below.

All withdrawals may be subject to a handling fee.

Withdrawal refunds (minus handling fee)
> 15 days prior - 100% refund, no Tag
≤ 14 days prior - 50% refund, coordinate with Tournament Director for Tag pick-up
No show - no refund, coordinate with Tournament Director for Tag pick-up

ABOUT THE CLUB

Out of a collective desire to reunite our previously divided local disc golf communities under one banner, this club has established its roots.

The purpose of this newly founded Okaloosa Disc Golf Club is to unite, strengthen, and grow our Okaloosa County area disc golf courses and community and to facilitate new opportunities for local players to come together and enjoy throwing plastic!
