Hi dennis, I'm in a real quandary. I want to play this tournament, I think it's my best shot in MA 50 to win and qualify for the nadgt championships. I've had the highest rated round of my career at willamette, my only 1000+ rated round in the pdga. And with 25 years Playing in the PDGA comma And only Career wins comma I really think I've got a great Opportunity To win this

My dilemma is that I have a Team disc golf match that day Comma and if I miss it to play this tourna ... more

Speaking of team disc golf, maybe that group could start posting where they are playing on social media outside of Facebook. Disc golf has dedicated social media, yet Portland team disc golf posts only on their own Facebook page. 3 times in the last 4 months we've shown up to a course just to h ... more

Well Gwain, I thought I sent one to you, but I sent it to DGS instead. LOL It wasn't anything good, I just gave a good reason it wouldn't move, as I didn't catch the joke until others did. Could have been a funny thread.

Gawain Stern   February 7 at 1:10am

Robert, thanks for the feedback, I'll pass it along to the commissioner. Dennis, yeah, at no time was I serious about asking you on a Friday to move the tournament from 2 days out to one day out, lol. Just making a joking post about how much I wanted to play this nadgt, and was torn between it ... more

Awesome job! Are there any mandos?

Dennis Stoneman   February 2 at 2:30am

No mandos.

Love it!

Is the layout known for this tournament - can you post it? Thank you

will be posting this week. Have one more conversation with the parks.

Josh Warner    January 23 at 8:19pm

The real question is when can we practice? Is course closed until they clean up?

Dennis Stoneman   January 23 at 10:33pm

The course is not closed, we got it almost completely cleaned on Sunday. The parks has a priority on trees on 13, and 11 as they are leaning, might already be done. The big tree on 1 may or may not be done in time for tournament. We'll have an alternate tee in the mean time. Course is in the tournament layout.

Josh Warner   January 24 at 1:59pm

Sweet. Thanks

I see a few requests to withdraw (understandably), in the comments here. And this is not an official post. But in general, on DiscGolfScene, you can withdraw yourself from a tournament, and get whatever refund you have coming. Pardon me if this is not correct, but there should be a place, in this event listing, where you perform the withdrawal process yourself. That could save some extra effort for the TD. Again, this is not verified, and not an official post, but I know I have had to withd ... more

Most people do withdraw process on their end. Click on "Registered Players" and there should be a withdraw button on in the top left corner above the list of players.

This is Kevin Nichols requesting a refund

We have finalized on February 4th to reconvene at Willamette to finally get this season started! There are definitely some dangerous areas on the course, and the parks are confident that it will be much safer. There is a work party the Willamette Club is setting up on Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m. if any are interested.

We know that some of you may not be able to make the new date. Send a refund request, and we will refund 100% of registration. We cannot refund the PayPal/DGS fees, beca ... more

I need to withdraw as I will be out of state..

Dennis Stoneman    January 19, 2024 at 7:18pm

The parks are asking we postpone to February 4th. We are talking to the PDGA now to see if that is feasible. Final plans should be posted in the next few hours.

City of Corvallis Parks and Rec has done an assessment on the disc golf course, and deemed it unsafe for tournament play. The question remains to cancel, or postpone. I have talked with the parks and PDGA representative. There will not be a tournament tomorrow, and I will keep you all posted with any updates.

I was out to the course. There is still some ice on the ground, but is melting quickly. Limbs are on the fairways, but, not in dangerous positions that I found. Hole 1, Hole 9, and Hole 15 have down trees right off the tee pads. 15 is precarious, don't go under it, 1 and 9 are not really playable with the trees down. I have had a conversation with the parks department, and they are going to take a look and call me later with what they think they can get done tomorrow. 15's basket will ... more

To follow up on Terry and mine's previous comments - is course playable - no down trees or course danger? Anyone know?

Dennis Stoneman   January 18, 2024 at 5:45pm

I'm heading out there today. There were some down limbs, hoping it got cleaned up.

Rich Nellis   January 18, 2024 at 6:44pm

Thank you Dennis

Terry Schulz    January 16, 2024 at 2:48pm

Is the course playable? Did it have any trees come down?

Steven Silvers   January 19, 2024 at 3:48pm

There was a post made on the Facebook group, with the extent of the damage I would consider the course unsafe and unplayable. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Sum2jghF9kuHMH48/?mibextid=K35XfP

Rich Nellis   January 19, 2024 at 4:43pm

Steven - it did look pretty bad with hanging limbs.

Steven Silvers   January 19, 2024 at 5:05pm

Yeah I’d be more worried about the stuff that hasn’t come down yet to be honest

Rich Nellis    January 15, 2024 at 5:41pm

Any information about the course and downed trees? Is this still looking like a "go"? Thanks for update and be safe!!

Tournament is being postponed til January 20th. Will be making necessary changes to this and PDGA soon.

Dennis Stoneman    January 11, 2024 at 11:39pm

This tournament is going to be postponed due to weather, and unsafe conditions on the course. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working with the PDGA and current registrants to find the earliest day to reconvene. Thank you for your patience.

Dennis thanks, you saved us from potentially getting stuck on the pass and eating ketchup packets just to survive.

Andrew McGarry    January 11, 2024 at 11:32pm

Hey Dennis I’m going to have to withdraw from the event. This weekend was the only weekend I was able to play due to work schedules. Thanks for the communications with the weather issues.

All of the most recent information is coming in emails. I will update this site when final arrangements have been made.

Dennis Stoneman    January 10, 2024 at 9:49pm

Hello everyone. The weather will be cold, but we will be having a tournament this Saturday. There is a players pack, those that signed up before the shipping date will receive those as they check in. Some folks have had to cancel due to weather restrictions, and commute, which we totally understand. Layout will be sent out on Friday afternoon, most pins are in location now, but I will not have an official layout until Friday. Thank you all for your patience, and support. We'll melt all the snow and ice with fire rounds and scores. See you this weekend.
