I have gotten a mountain of questions already and I will try to respond as best as I can. I just got off the phone with PDGA Event Support to discuss and here is what we discussed:

Refunds: Refunds are handled by NADGT and NADGT has stated that if you request a refund, you will receive a 100% refund. If you still want to play, come out.   

Safety: Safety is the TOP PRIORITY for these events. For each strike of lightning, we have to delay the event by 30 minutes from an all clear. I am tracking the storm via weather channel and weatherbug, and there is a 70% chance of lightning until between 10:30 and 11:00am. Tee pads are going to be wet and portions of the course may be flooded. We need at least 30 minutes after the last lightning strike to begin check-in. With each of you playing with groups of 5, each round will take 3.5-4 hours. There is not enough time to check in, play 2 rounds, and have a lunch break before dark. 

Start Time Delay: The reason we are delaying the start time is to give the course time to dry out. Weather is often unpredictable and it is hard to make a judgment call of exactly when we can start after a delay.

I understand that many of you traveled here to play this event and got up early, etc. It's a huge bummer that this event couldn't proceed as planned. Please understand that we are doing the best we can to mitigate the situation.

As many of you have mentioned, there is a 70% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. The plan is to play 2 shotgun start rounds with Round 1 beginning at 9am. We will follow PDGA rules and guidelines about weather, meaning that the only thing that will stop the event is lightning. However, safety is of the utmost importance to us, so we put together the survey below. In the event that there is inclement weather we wanted to give you guys the chance to vote beforehand on whether or not we should play one round or two. Again, this will ONLY apply if there is inclement weather. Please respond to the survey before the event.
