Fairgrounds vs. Aragon
St. Johns County Players Cup
ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME! MUST BE ESTABLISHED VIA HANDICAP LEAGUE.
1. Limited to 54 players.
2. All players will be placed on one of two teams- Team Aragon or Team Fairgrounds
3. All players must be St. Augustine League established (3 rounds)
4. Teams will be determined by draft of team captains. 2 captains will be chosen.
5. During registration process, players will state a preference for what course they would like to represent-Sorry, NO TEAM PROMISES OTHER THAN FOR THE TEAM CAPTIANS.
SCORING:
1. 1st round @ Aragon is based on 1vs1 (Cards of up to 6 players) matchups against other team members with matchup winners winning 1 point for their team, ties result in a ½ point for their team, while a loss results in 0 points. If a player beats an opposing player they are matched up against by more than six strokes, they will be rewarded an extra ½ point. Matchups will be based on where player was drafted, organized (hopefully) by draft segments of 3. Example: Drafted players in picks 1-3 will play against other team’s drafted players in 1-3 picked slots; 4-6 picks vs other team’s picks 4-6, and so forth.
2. 2nd round @ Fairgrounds- (Doubles):
3. Cards will be 4 players, representing their teams.
4. Doubles teams will be determined by scores from Round 1 at Aragon. Players will be matched up by scores, with higher ranking scores playing together and lower ranking scores playing together. (Example: Fairgrounds Team Bob shoots a 10 down at Aragon, he will likely be paired with Fairgrounds Team Walt who shot a 9 down during round 1 at Aragon.
5. The top half of team scores will play from long pads to yellow basket while the bottom half of scores will play from short pads to white baskets.
6. Scoring system will remain the same. Matchup winners winning 1 point for their team, ties result in a ½ point for their team, while a loss results in 0 points. If a doubles team beats the opposing doubles team they are matched up against by more than six strokes, they will be rewarded an extra ½ point.
