IMPORTANT: Identity Verification Requirements

In order to confirm that players who are registered for the event are the same as the players who will be competing in the event, PDGA staff will be performing identity verification for all players. This is a requirement for participation in this event.

Identity verification will be performed during player check-in but you may optionally upload a digital photo or scan of an acceptable form of identification at any time at https://www.pdga.com/policy/identity-verification/upload

WAIT LISTS & REFUNDS:
There are many questions about getting promoted into the event off of the wait list. This information is posted below but having a thread on its own makes it easier to find. This is a brief look at how many players have been promoted into the event off of the wait list via refund requests since 2014. Not including the COVID cancelled 2020 event, from 2014 - 2022 the USADGC averages 33.25 refunds a year. More specifically, the most recent years have seen a surge in refunds for a variety of reasons like injury, work, family issues, travel costs, etc. Beginning with 2014, those numbers are 5, 11, 7, 37, 31, 46, 57, and last year a whopping 72 refunds. Its posted in the About section and in the invitation email - not being on the wait list eliminates all chance of being in the event. If you see spots have opened, feel free to sign up and take a chance on the wait list. If you are on the wait list and do not get into the event, you will receive a full refund.

APRIL REGISTRATION UPDATE (940+ PDGA RATED PLAYERS):
Email Invitations to all 940+ rated PDGA players who qualify will be sent out tomorrow morning, Thursday, April 13, 2023. To allow everyone an opportunity to receive, read, and if needed, take the PDGA Official's exam, registration will tentatively be open for the remaining wait list spots at 7 pm Eastern Standard Time Zone, Saturday eveining, April 15, 2023.

If you think you should have received an invitation but did not, please check your Spam folder. If you did not find it, please reach out to me via an Inbox message here on the Scene or text me at (248) 515-0350.

The requirements to qualify are:
You must be a PDGA Amateur who is (current and/or was current in 2022)
You must have a PDGA Rating of 940+ with at least 6 rounds in their rating,
And must have played a PDGA sanctioned event in 2022 or later.

If you have met all of the requirements above and have received an invitation, make sure you will be a certified PDGA Official through the end of the 2023 USADGC event.

Here is a typical day competing for the USADGC:

Staff begins to arrive at the park around 6:30 am
1st Tee off is at 7:30 am on Friday and Saturday
1st Tee off is at 7:00 am on Sunday
Tee times in between groups are at 12 minute intervals, weather pending
There are 3 practice baskets near the 1st tee
There is a field where players can warm up longer throws
There will be an assortment of fresh fruits and snacks, coffee and water in the pavilion daily for the players and their caddies
Players are requested to check-in near the practice baskets 30 minutes prior to their posted daily tee times
Players will be sent to Hole 1 15 minutes before your posted daily tee times and check-in with our Tournament Starters
There will be an assortment of candies and water throughout the course under the pop-up tents for the players and their caddies
These will be restocked throughout the competition
We are working on a map and will post it in the Pictures tab above showing the course and pop-up tent locations
There will be water at the course Thursday for the players and caddies
When your rounds are finished you will be greeted at hole 18 by our Tournament Scorers
Following your rounds, you may go to the pavilion where you will be fed daily by Holden's (It is always great food and is part of the event)
If a player's caddie or partner would like to eat, the cost is $5 a day
Last tee times on Friday and Saturday should be around 2:54 pm, weather pending
Last Tee times on Sunday should be around 2:24 pm, weather pending
Rounds roughly take 3 - 3 1/2 hours. Depending on start times and weather, we expect to finish between 6:00 - 6:30 pm
Sunday awards immediately follow the last card barring any ties.
Following the last card daily, players may go back out on the course to practice if they so desire.

The first set or RATINGS INVITES will be emailed out within a week to allow all TDs time to finalize their reports and based on the PDGA vetting of eligible players.
Eligible players must be registered with the PDGA as an Amateur.

REGISTRATION IS EXPECTED TO BE OPEN WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2023, 5 pm EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE.
PLAYERS WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER AS LONG AS THEY HAVE PASSED THEIR PDGA OFFICIALS CERTIFICATION.

The Ratings come out tomorrow, the 14th. Typically, we allow a couple of days to allow TDs to finalize their events. Once I receive them from the PDGA, they need to be emailed out. When all invitations are sent to the players, we allow a day or two before opening up registration. I will post in the comments when all invitations are sent allowing players a day or two to contact me if they did not receive their invitation but think they should have.
Please read the qualifying process because I have added an explanation on how ratings are configured.
Also, invitations are emailed to the addresses supplied to the PDGA when players renew or join the PDGA.

I've heard something along the lines of being able to cash and still compete in AM events as long as your rating is below a certain threshold. Just wanted to double check.
