Is there any way to request to be in the combined 15/18 pool? Having a son in each division, that would make at least the first couple of days a lot easier.

Andrew Sweeton   April 5, 2023 at 4:57pm

Sorry, but the pools are assigned strictly by player rating, so only if they are both not in the top 72 by rating for their division will they end up together in the E pool.

Jackson Cates   April 11, 2023 at 7:32pm

Verifying this....If my MJ18 is in the top 72 he would play in Pool D, and my MJ15 is the top 72 he will play in Pool F, correct? And will the pools not be finalized until the week of the event, based on June rating?

Andrew Sweeton   April 11, 2023 at 8:11pm

Correct, that scenario would result in them being in Pools D and F. The pools will be assigned and posted on June 20th based on the June Ratings update.

You have to register and make payment, there are no walkups.

Phil Orman   April 30, 2023 at 8:24pm

Typographical error. But might wanna fix ... the split MJ field has mj14 listed.... :)

Andrew Sweeton   May 1, 2023 at 11:35am

Fixed, thanks for the heads up Phil!

Aaron Waggoner    April 5, 2023 at 3:57pm

I reached out to Nate asking whether this would be ok to do and did not receive a response, so I'm putting this out there. Please, if I am not allowed to do this, someone let me know. I am a professional photographer/videographer and we will be at Jr. Worlds to support our son Ty who will be playing in the MJ12 division. I had the father of another junior ask if I'd be available to take some action shots of his son while we are there, and then that got me wondering if maybe some other ... more

Roderic Maianu    April 5, 2023 at 3:37pm

does anyone know how many drops there were for mj15 last year?

Andrew Sweeton   April 5, 2023 at 3:46pm

Near as I can tell. about 15 prior to the waitlist being refunded. Of course this year could be more, could be less.

Roderic Maianu   April 5, 2023 at 5:23pm

and by any chance do you know the year before?

Andrew Sweeton   April 5, 2023 at 5:28pm

No, but probably a very similar percentage as it was also 72 spots.

Roderic Maianu    April 5, 2023 at 3:35pm

I don't think I'll get in

Is this going to be implemented? https://www.pdga.com/policy/identity-verification Should we bring birth certificates or is there a way to verify identity before the tournament?

This applies to those under 13 as well? Thanks

Cory W   April 12, 2023 at 8:25pm

I’d pack a copy of your child’s birth certificate since that is the last acceptable document listed on their policy page: https://www.pdga.com/policy/identity-verification

Jessica Cowen   April 17, 2023 at 5:46pm

You can email a scan of your child's birth certificate to [email redacted]

Looking for a MJ12 partner as well

Roderic Maianu    April 4, 2023 at 3:36am

why does mj18 have more spots than mj15?

John Ryan   April 4, 2023 at 5:27am

In most of the previous years it’s alway been capped at 72 people for each division. First year it’s been more in like forever. I do also believe that MJ18 has almost twice as many invites compared to MJ15. Huge debacle last year with a few top rated kids not getting in, hence tier 1 inv ... more

Robert Leonard   April 4, 2023 at 12:38pm

Hi Roderic. There are two primary reasons MJ18 has more spots than 15s. First, anyone who is eligible to play 15 is also eligible for 18 while the opposite is not the case. Secondly, there are 1013 MJ18 invitees compared to 499 for MJ15.

Roderic Maianu    April 3, 2023 at 10:02pm

when will the registration close?

Andrew Sweeton   April 3, 2023 at 10:06pm

Robert Leonard    April 3, 2023 at 9:25pm

We completed Doubles registration today. The list is at: https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69628

If you are not on the list, you or your partner is on the singles waitlist (you must be a singles competitor to play doubles) OR you received an email to the email you signed up with for the tournament from me today explaining the issue.

Please let me know if you have questions!

Yes, all groupings will be random for the first round as dictated in the competition manual.

Virginia Polkinghorne   April 8, 2023 at 8:21pm

any way to register another FJ15 doubles team still?

Robert Leonard   April 11, 2023 at 2:42pm

Virginia - I PMed you.

When does Kennel Lake open for practice rounds?

Nate Heinold   April 3, 2023 at 1:24pm

That information will be emailed out closer to the event, including the facility rules. Players are not allowed to practice the course at this time.

Jason B   April 3, 2023 at 2:57pm

Thanks. Are there any junior courses in use by the adults as well? I didn’t see any on the draft schedule (other than Northwood blue), but I recall last year we couldn’t practice Kennel Lake until late in the day because of an adult round.

Nate Heinold   April 3, 2023 at 3:04pm

The course schedule is available now for review. It is a draft schedule.

Roderic Maianu    April 1, 2023 at 3:52pm

Todd Lion   April 1, 2023 at 4:45pm

It's unlikely any more spots will be opened for MJ15.

Todd Lion   April 1, 2023 at 4:50pm

I cannot make any promises one way or another when it comes to waitlist movement. But there's always waitlist movement. There's reason to be optimistic.

Roderic Maianu   April 2, 2023 at 5:08pm

ok, thank you.

Chris Fischer    April 1, 2023 at 3:50am

How many on the waitlist ended up playing last year in the 18u?

Chris Fischer   April 1, 2023 at 5:18pm

Ok. Will they be expanding the field if other age groups don't fill up?

Chris Fischer   April 1, 2023 at 7:17pm

Also, if by chance I am already there and somebody doesn't show up, would I be able to take that spot?

Andrew Sweeton   April 1, 2023 at 8:28pm

No, it's a full course pool plus part of a pool with MJ15 and MJ15 also has a waitlist. No, sorry, we don't fill spots on the day of, the waitlist is released and refunded on June 24th, there are no replacements thereafter.

Jimi gosinski    April 1, 2023 at 2:26am

How can you sign up for doubles?

Andrew Sweeton   April 1, 2023 at 12:59pm

It is on the registration form when you sign up for singles.

Aubrey Terry    April 1, 2023 at 12:58am

Anyone looking to partner up for FJ15 doubles, please let me know.

Rich Fletcher   April 5, 2023 at 1:00am

If there is 120 mj18 players how can everyone shotgun start at the same time on one course?

Hayden carroll   April 1, 2023 at 7:06pm

Ok thankyou!

Hayden carroll   April 1, 2023 at 7:17pm

Then what does it mean when it says mj18 and mj15 shuffle after the 3rd round?

Andrew Sweeton   April 1, 2023 at 8:31pm

It means after 3 rounds when all the MJ18 and MJ15 players have played identical courses, the pools are reshuffled. So then the 72 best MJ18 scores will be in D Pool with the 48 worst MJ18 scores in E Pool.

Brian Schoffstall    March 31, 2023 at 9:20pm

My son is looking for an MJ12 doubles partner. Let me know if you have any interest. Thanks!

Gloria Anderson   April 9, 2023 at 10:33pm

Any chance your son still needs a doubles partner? Mine is MJ12 and has a spot but needs a partner.

Hayden carroll    March 31, 2023 at 2:26pm

Are the rounds shotgun start for mj18 or do we have different tee times?

Micah Hicks   March 31, 2023 at 1:52pm

is there any chance of more spots opening up for MJ18?

Andrew Sweeton   March 31, 2023 at 3:10pm

I don't think so, there is already a full course pool plus a partial course pool for MJ18.
