I would recommend that at future Jr. events that there be a parent conduct meeting before play starts. I saw multiple parents swear at and berate their own kids during play. One dad stood next to his son for every shot spending over a minute coaching every shot. It was as if he was playing through his son. It was a distraction to the card. We've played lots of rounds with other adults and have dealt with lots of interesting behavior. But the conduct of some of these parents during these rou ... more
I second the idea that Jr. Worlds should never coincide with another World Championship. Last year, I wanted to compete in the AM Masters Worlds, but was unable because it was the exact same week as Juniors, and I can't be there with my son for his rounds and compete in mine at the same time. Same went this year for AM Worlds. I had no option to even consider it.

All future Junior worlds should never be hosting another major event at the same time. It does not allow for a focus on either one. Key over these two years is that we had to travel large distances just to get to disc golf courses for all tiers.
Junior worlds should also be focused on making the event fun so even those out of contention get a great experience that isn’t just focused on play. Think of this event as a kid focused, entertainment draw that features a competition. When ...

Thanks for the feedback Steven. Forwarding to the Majors Committee and Operations & Logistics Team.
Steven, thank you very much for the feedback. All of the courses at this event were a maximum of 35 minutes apart. As for the "fun" experience, at the end of the day, the competition still needs to be the most important thing about the event. We have to make sure the courses are marked pro ... more
Most likely Nate and his crew would not legally have the ability to show a movie as I doubt they would have the license to publicly show one.

heads up..
All of pool K contestans do not have any of their rounds rated.
Due to the limited number of propagators, the ratings will not show up until the ratings go official on the next rating update. (second Tuesday of each month)

Play for Wednesday June 28th has been suspended for all pools and courses due to air quality conditions. PDGA and event staff are currently evaluating conditions on the ground, assessing our current policy more in depth and reviewing air quality data to determine when we can resume play. We are advising players not to go to their courses. We will be giving players a minimum of one hour's notice for a restart time.

For the field events, is there a payout? Store credit like last year? If so, where can someone find that? Ty
The list of voucher amount is posted on the Junior Worlds information page. Emails will be sent with the voucher gift cards.

Just incase someone is still interested in a Airbnb for the week here is a good one. We had to cancel last minute since our son didn't get in off of the waitlist:

It seems the updated Bradley course map and caddy book took our all references to creeks and water being out of bounds. So what happens if throws end up in the water? We played it today and there are definitely some where the discs could be lost in there.
The water is a casual area - https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/80603
So if a disc lands in the water and the player needs to take relief farther from the target and on the line of play, they’re going to have to figure out how to get across the creek first? That’s going to be pretty difficult in some places.
Players are allowed to play the disc as it lies. also, players can return to their previous lie with a one throw penalty.

My son will be doing the distance competition for MJ12, Is there specific info for the format? , how many throws does he get ? Is he allowed to retrieve a disc and use it again for the next throw ? Etc …
Last year they gave you 5 throws and they had to land within the in bounds area which is pretty wide. They marked the throw at where it touches the ground and not where it ends up. I don’t know about retrieving discs but I don’t think it would work very well.
Last year you couldnt retrieve your disks until all 4 or 5 throwers were done throwing the 5 disks. And someone out in field was collecting them for you. The is a spotter and collector for each thrower.

I have been made aware that UDisc Events list doubles at Northwood Blue. This is wrong! It is at Kennel Lake. UDisc is not affiliated with the PDGA nor the event and players should not use it for information throughout the week and should refer to official event pages / emails.
Thanks for the feedback Matt. Forwarding to the Majors Committee and Operations & Logistics Team.
