There is still 20 spots available. Tomorrow will you take any open spots and open up a little more in each field?
Tom Borror April 20, 2023 at 1:45am
Tee times are at 8am MA50/55, meaning we will all start on hole 1 at specific times throughout the day? also will MA55 tee off before MA50?
Last year’s Master Worlds the tee order for MA50/ MA55 flipped each day meaning 50’s in the morning one round and then afternoon the next round

Am I allowed 2 caddies?
Not at the same time, only one caddie can accompany you with the playing group, but you could have a different caddie one round to another.
Earl Dakers April 19, 2023 at 7:22pm
Seems like the courses got changed for ma55 after sign ups. Is this true?
The difference between v1 and v2 of the course schedule was the addition of the evening activity venues and times along the bottom.

I have a few questions for the doubles event,
1 - Is it 1 or 2 rounds?
2 - What course are we playing?
3 - About what time would it start?
It's typically 2 rounds; starts early, but not real early; 1st round is typically best shot; 2nd round is typically alternate shot.
Doubles is two rounds. We will start around 9:00 (emails will be sent out closer to the event from me and we will update the overall schedule - https://www.pdga.com/2023mastersworlds/course-schedule). Doubles will be at little america. Course used and layouts TBD, but we try to allign the singles schedule /layout with the doubles schedule / layout as much as practical and possible.

What is the course availability/schedule for practice rounds in the days leading up to the opening rounds?
Field events are scheduled for Sunday at Fort Tuthill, Monday is a practice day.
Little America, is that able to be practiced on for Sunday or Monday? Even walking the course to see where the baskets lye?
Both Little America courses should be available for practice Sunday and Monday of tournament week.

Robert Leonard, and tournament staff. Thank you so much for what you’re doing. I realize that this is complex. What I was suggesting, was not holding spots for people who would help out with the tournament but if enough volunteers from the waitlist agreed to work on courses another course or two could be opened up in the field expanded. I would commit to 2 to 3 hours a day myself for the week before to help open up another course or two or get snowbowl ready. I’m guessing there are others who would be willing and able to do this as well.

I wanted to change my registration from MA60 to MA55 (which I have an invite) but it wouldn't let me edit that. I thought if I withdrew I could do it then, but it still has me registered so I cannot register for MA55 waitlist. What should I do? I want to be registered for A55 before this evening so someone else who doesn't have an invite for 55 gets in before me. My hopes of getting in are thin I know.
Scott - you should be able to do a second registration right now for MA55 because you have an invite for MA55. Then you would be on both waitlists. The other option is that I could modify your current registration from MA60 to MA55. If we did that immediately, this would take you off MA60 as WL #29 and place you on the MA55 WL as #16. Let me know if you would like me to do that.
Thank you. I was able to register for both. Please ignore my withdrawal from MA60. (Although it’d be a miracle to get in there)

Whats the likelihood of getting in off the waitlist? Currently 27 for MA40. Trying to determine lodging and time off. With Ledgestone A tier, you can be pretty deep and get in with drops.
Likely the same with this event. GBO was that way back in the day too.

I have recently spoken with PDGA events coordinator. I have planned all year last year to play in this tournaments. Qualified with 998 points. I was extremely busy working nights as a supervisor at a hospital. We have had more difficult nights lately, and I was not able to sign up until days later. Last year I played through injury, requiring physical therapy of my shoulder, but made certain that I would qualify still. I was under a false impression that, as in the past years ago the last time I ... more
Brent - Every single person registered met the qualification requirements for this event. I can't find anywhere a requirement that you be one of the top 72 MA55 players (or # and division of your choice) in the world to receive an invite. I say either go Pro, or stop belittling every AM player ... more
MA40 filled in 3 minutes for open registration. I had nearly 2000 points and was sitting by my computer for 30 mins before registration opened. My son's junior invite filled in 45 seconds. We both made it in.

Is there a place to sign up to volunteer or help out with the event?

Any chance the Am side fields will be expanded?
More specifically, Pools A (MP40), D (MA40), and E (MA50/MA55) are all currently capped at 144 people while other pools are capped at 160 people. Is it possible to at least increase all of the pool sizes to 160?
Greg less than 100 signed up on the Pro and a waitlist 150 deep on the am side . You want MP40 increased ?
That wasn't exactly what I was saying. In all cases where a pool is limited to 144 people, the same courses are played by a pool limited to 160 people. So it should be possible to increase all pools to 160 people. It doesn't matter to me if they increase the MP40 limit to do that or sh ... more

I’ve received the invite a while ago and still cannot find my name in the invite list. Am I looking in the wrong area?
And you didn't find your name on the list prior because you probably were looking at the wrong list. You were likely either looking at the Pro Worlds invite list or the Amateur Masters Worlds invite list. I guarantee you have been on the Pro Masters invite list since it was posted. I know this because I'm the person that calculates the Worlds invites and creates the lists.
That was concisely described and totally understood. My appreciation to you Mr. Sweeton. I believe I need to prepare and educate myself more as I am not at the pro level for my new class yet. My hope is to get to that rating requirement for a hopeful invite next year. Thank you so much for your informative reply. I hope we can communicate next year. ThNx again Sir.
Sure thing! Note that the 2024 invite criteria documents are here: https://www.pdga.com/2024worlds/2024-pdga-disc-golf-world-championships-invitation-criteria and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to email [email redacted]

Do caddy's need to be registered? I didn't notice an option if that's the case. Thank you!
No, but players will be provided with a caddy bib which must be worn by the caddy while caddying.

Any info about dress code during tournament play? (Collared shirts, sponsorship logos specifically). Thank you
This probably addresses your question: https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/304. Look for all Major specifics.
No tee shirts will be allowed, except for competitors in the Junior and Amateur divisions during preliminary rounds. Juniors and Amateurs shall not wear tee shirts during semifinal or final rounds. Crew neck or v-neck shirts made of high-performance or high-tech materials, such as Dry-Fit, Cool-Max, and others will be allowed.

Curious to know why Snowbowl was taken out of the course listing. Seems to me that The PROs could play there's with 144 spots being opened up. Sorry if this was mention earlier.
Thats cool, be nice to know timeline so withdraw or not plans can be made.
Robert Leonard April 14, 2023 at 1:03pm
Doubles is full.
If you would like to be on the waitlist, you need to email me([email redacted]) your name, PDGA number and your partner’s name and PDGA number. This person must be registered for the worlds (not on the waitlist).
Once the waitlist starts, I'll post a link here with the order.
Hi Rick - Doubles is shotgun start. I'll be emailing all players in a few days with schedule and info. Travel safe to Flagstaff!
Todd Williams April 14, 2023 at 5:16am
Is it to late to get in doubles for the AM 55
With 36 teams and 72 players, there simply is not a way to increase the size.
Anthony Silva April 14, 2023 at 2:44am
I need a partner for ma65 doubles. .
Individual divisions are limited more by the capacity of their specific course than by whether other divisions are filled. At some point, unused spots may be distributed to other divisions, but if a course is already full, it's unlikely that any more spots for that course will be opened up.
Thanks for all your doing. What do you think the odds of getting off the waiting list being #9 in MA50?
I can't make promises or predictions, but there's always significant amounts of movement off the waitlist every year.
