Individual divisions are limited more by the capacity of their specific course than by whether other divisions are filled. At some point, unused spots may be distributed to other divisions, but if a course is already full, it's unlikely that any more spots for that course will be opened up.

It's typically 2 rounds; starts early, but not real early; 1st round is typically best shot; 2nd round is typically alternate shot.

Doubles is two rounds. We will start around 9:00 (emails will be sent out closer to the event from me and we will update the overall schedule - https://www.pdga.com/2023mastersworlds/course-schedule). Doubles will be at little america. Course used and layouts TBD, but we try to allign the singles schedule /layout with the doubles schedule / layout as much as practical and possible.

Scott - you should be able to do a second registration right now for MA55 because you have an invite for MA55. Then you would be on both waitlists. The other option is that I could modify your current registration from MA60 to MA55. If we did that immediately, this would take you off MA60 as WL #29 and place you on the MA55 WL as #16. Let me know if you would like me to do that.

Mine went to spam and I didn’t even know till a buddy said he got an invite and I should have clearly got one. Couldn’t find it untill I checked the spam folder. It was past registration so I’m 39 on waitlist

Brent - I'm sorry you waited 2.5 days to register and thereby ended up on the waitlist, but we don't have saved berths for things like sponsors or volunteers, the only exceptions we do have are those spots saved for the prior year's world champions. I am not aware of any plans to increase the field sizes (as that would require more courses) but I hope you get in.

Just cause one has a higher rating and more points why should they get a better chance ? That completely would exclude players that would like a chance ? And for this year what if a person say needs to play for Master Tour points maybe if one plays any of those they should get a bump into this event ... more

Unfortunately, the PDGA has not been able to adapt quickly enough to the new amazing influx of players. This is a good problem not a bad one. Clearly 6000 players should not have been invited to a tournament with only 500 slots. That’s a mistake. Certainly not all at once. Slowly, if the slots didn’t fill different tiers of players with different points or ratings should’ve been invited. They have plans in the future to make changes to adapt to this, but they’re just not there yet. I get it. Good luck to everybody who gets to play . Unfortunately for me being at waitlisted on 29th Pl. on a slot with 72 players in my division I will have to cancel my Airbnb and not schedule off work because the chances of me making it are so slim.

Brent - that is why the top 5% by rating in each division get a guaranteed spot to register for a week - to ensure the best players can play if they wish to. The reality is that the vast majority of players have no interest in playing at Worlds anyway, hence the large pool of invitees.

I say either go Pro, or stop belittling every AM player in the world, save the top 500. If the PDGA ever wants an elite level tournament like that, I'm sure they will ask you for your criteria to determine the best players. And make sure they have at least 2-1/2 days to register before you invite the next group of qualified players to register. Until then, sit down, read all that you can about how to register, remember it is not 2003, and be ready next year. You'll know well ahead of time the date you need to register. Request that day off if you need to, or enlist the aid of a friend. There are easy ways to solve whatever perceived obstacles you had to registering, including all of us "less-talented" players.

MA40 filled in 3 minutes for open registration. I had nearly 2000 points and was sitting by my computer for 30 mins before registration opened. My son's junior invite filled in 45 seconds. We both made it in.

More specifically, Pools A (MP40), D (MA40), and E (MA50/MA55) are all currently capped at 144 people while other pools are capped at 160 people. Is it possible to at least increase all of the pool sizes to 160?

It doesn't matter to me if they increase the MP40 limit to do that or shift a smaller division into pool A to allow another division to grow. However, regarding number of pro registrants, I would anticipate that will look a little different tomorrow night after registration for the pro divisions opens up for all invitees.

There is no rating requirement for an invite to Pro Masters Worlds, such an invite has nothing to do with your player rating, it's based on the pro points you earned during 2022. The requirement for MP50 was 200 Pro points, you earned 306, so you got an invite. Player ratings only come into play if you are already invited AND you are in the top 5% by rating of those invited in which case you get an early registration tier.

And you didn't find your name on the list prior because you probably were looking at the wrong list. You were likely either looking at the Pro Worlds invite list or the Amateur Masters Worlds invite list. I guarantee you have been on the Pro Masters invite list since it was posted. I know this because I'm the person that calculates the Worlds invites and creates the lists.

No tee shirts will be allowed, except for competitors in the Junior and Amateur divisions during preliminary rounds. Juniors and Amateurs shall not wear tee shirts during semifinal or final rounds. Crew neck or v-neck shirts made of high-performance or high-tech materials, such as Dry-Fit, Cool-Max, and others will be allowed.

We’ve had record snowfall and there’s still a 10 foot base of snow. We don’t anticipate the snow to melt in ample time to put in the considerable work needed to prep the course.
