Will we have options of getting lighter weight discs (<165g) in the player's pack?

Where is the pro sign up
For this tournament?

Hey Blake, this is an amateur only event. The parallel Pro event is the Jonesboro Open Disc Golf Pro tour event.

How about MA70 this year?

Louis Belamour    January 31, 2023 at 4:39pm

So on Friday - tee off is at 2 pm? So we wouldn't be able to watch the last few cards on the pro side?

Bradley Pietz   January 31, 2023 at 8:36pm

Hi Louis. Yes, tee time is 2:00. We have always started at 2:00 so area players can drive in Friday morning, pick up players pack, and get to course for first round without having to come in Thursday night. This has worked well in the past. You should be able to get to Champ Course and watch several cards on back 9 after your round.

If yall dont like the way a tourney is ran you got 2 options. 1. Steup up and run it yourself(which i wouldnt advise cause it sounds like yall dont know very much) amd 2. Dont play in it nobody likes a bunch of cry babies trying to tell them how to ru things when they are the ones putting all of their time and effort in. Shout out to all yall putting on the JBO yall are doin great. Keep up the hard work !!!!!!!!

YES!!! Thanks for speaking up and saying something Bro :) I fully agree & i think its better too, this way we can play the Disc-side course twice, given we signup for both flex starts, (Friday & Saturday's) which i plan to do & have talked with others that plan to aswell, so NOW ... more

Thanks for the appreciation comments Kevin and Jim! Much Love!

Derek H    January 22, 2023 at 4:21am

Will never play JBO again. All this is is a money grab. Can’t support a course that only supports the disc golf community during the pro tour then is a hay field once they leave.

Mark bates   January 24, 2023 at 12:43pm

Then why comment bc this course gets played alot not just for JBO but good luck on your other tournaments

Ashley B   January 27, 2023 at 2:39pm

Mark bates I don't see you signed up you broke now that ur baby momma don't take care of you??

Mark B    January 21, 2023 at 1:45am

They could make room for us at disc side rec if they wanted to they just don't want us over there any more. They could leave player check in at craighead and put our practice area at disc side somewhere away from tournament central away from the congestion,,!,,

Mark bates   January 21, 2023 at 3:09am

At any major tournament you don’t play near the pros.. this is a great idea where they won’t be distracted seeing hole one of champside and hole one for Rec is like 50 feet

Mark B   January 26, 2023 at 12:45am

So all the spectators roaming around tournament central and people buying food from the food truck directly behind hole 1 is not a distraction? Imagine that

Matthew Place    January 16, 2023 at 1:12am

What does the parking situation look like for Disc Side this year, during JBO? Thanks!

Bradley Pietz   January 16, 2023 at 3:06am

Same as last year.

With this Event being Trophy only, what percentage of each pool gets trophies?

Matt Zollitsch   January 16, 2023 at 8:44pm

Top 3 per division, pending on totals per division

Todd Cavender    January 14, 2023 at 1:38pm

I have played this event the last 2 years. Traveling from Michigan, I have really pushed this event amongst my piers because of the access you have to the pro side. HOWEVER, we have ALWAYS had access to the pros as a player. You aren't ADDING anything more to the access this year for players.

We don't get to play Disc Side of Heaven REC this year, why is that???? Kind of the draw to playing this tournament if you ask me. We also had payouts the last two years. Even at your flex eve ... more

I figured this was the case, I understand. Just disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed Rec/Craighead combo. I travel to a lot of tournaments and the draw for Jonesboro was being able to play along side the pros at Disc Side of Heaven. Thank you for your response. :)

Matt Zollitsch   January 18, 2023 at 8:21pm

I hear you Todd. Hopefully you will still make the trip and enjoy the weeks activities. Come by and say hello at the Prodigy Tent.

Mark B   January 26, 2023 at 12:51am

The 72 people are teeing off at 18 different holes they are not all at tournament central! And what about when the rec tournament is over , now most of those 72 people are at tournament central watching the pros, so how is that different ?

That’s crazy the players pack isn’t much more then what we always get I don’t even throw prodigy so it’s a total waste of $$ anyways and on top of it I don’t get to play discside am side which is my favorite course to play in the tournament and on top of that I don’t get a payout if I place so I could buy things like a retrievers since I don’t throw prodigy disc I just hope this tournament is better next year

You get a weekend pass to watch the pros live. That right there is worth it to me. But also why complain if you aren't going to play?

Dustin Lutz   January 12, 2023 at 12:01am

They are still signed up as of 6:00pm on 1/11

Brad Lasseigne   January 13, 2023 at 1:31pm

They are taking the same approach as DD which is honestly terrible and the reason why I never want to go back there either. I'm glad I'm from IL and can play ledgestone where we get a much better players pack AND pay out. I had this conversation with the TD at DDO last year, I felt ripped off. No A tier should be allowed to not do pay out

Mark B    January 11, 2023 at 1:46am

Keep check in and players pack pickup at craighead and use hole 1 and or 2 baskets at disc side rec course for practice and then you are away from tournament central

If the tournament fills up that is $21,600!

Matt Zollitsch   January 11, 2023 at 2:36pm

Hey guys, we chose to put more resources into the player packs to provide the more value to all of the players in the event. One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received last year is we did not deliver on value for you, and we want to improve the player experience. The "True Amateur" ... more

Bradley Pietz    January 9, 2023 at 2:54am

Several questions regarding not playing the Rec Course this year. Here are the details:

Each year as the tournament grows, we have to add more things to Tournament Central. Tournament Central is a small area, and with more spectators, more media, larger warmup area, more food vendors, etc, space is at a premium. When we run the AM Side on the Rec Course, that adds 72 players and their spectators to that cramped area. The Pro Side has just become too big to handle that and the AM S ... more

Why is the flex start on the rec course but the ones playing tournament getting screwed and have to drive to Paragould. It should be the other way around. Flex start should be at Crowley's ridge. Would like an explanation. But you prolly won't give one
