Just to be clear, to be a volunteer a person gives their time, (In the Rain), their service, and Pays PDGA 10 Rat Dollars to boot?

Some forecasts call for 40 mph wind gusts and heavy rain due to the remnants of Hurricane Ian on Fri and Sat. What are the plans if the storm does indeed produce that kind of weather?
As of now the event is still scheduled in its entirety. Your safety is paramount to us so we will be watching the path of Ian and making our decisions accordingly. Our plan now is to reevaluate this Wednesday. I do feel confident the event will be held but there is a strong chance we will have to ... more

Need verification of my confirmation.
Sergio, looks like you are registered to volunteer. Do you just need another copy of the email?

Do we have to be available all 3 days? Or can we volunteer for just one of the days?

If you signed up for two days, you get a $50 DGU gift card. I don't know if standing in 50⁰, tropical storm winds, and rain is worth a few Teebirds tho lol

Thank you for the question Mike. The payment is not to the PDGA, it is made to the USDGC Doubles event. The purpose of the payment is to create buyin, where the volunteer feels a certain level of obligation to take their volunteer role seriously. No shows, last minute cancels, and volunteers that aren't truly bought into the process are a reality we need to avoid with how big the event is. If the $10 fee is the barrier that is keeping you from volunteering, we understand. Just reach out to us and we can figure something out, but the value is certainly returned in the form of food, a shirt, a DGU gift cards, and more. Cheers!
