If on waitlist but don't get in can I be refunded

Roger Vranak   April 28, 2022 at 10:27pm

Pretty sure that’s automatic

John Birkrem   April 28, 2022 at 10:28pm

Under the refund policy there is a link to a document which says, all players still on the waitlist as of July 8th will be refunded.

mick Barber Sr.    April 28, 2022 at 8:24pm

Can anyone direct me to the doubles information. I can’t seem to find the link or picture of the event schedule.

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 8:54pm

So far only what is in the invite letter, we will be building the separate doubles pages for each worlds showing the participants in the coming days. FYI - it is two rounds, first round is modified Best Throw and the second round is Modified Alternate Throw.

Chris Hart    April 28, 2022 at 8:17pm

Flying in from Australia, and keen to play in MA40 doubles event. Anyone looking for a partner? Chris Hart PDGA#150389. Cheers.

If you don't mind carrying some dead weight I'd be down to partner up.

Why are there so few spots for "The World Championship"? 23 spots for ma65 and ma70? Obviously there is more interest and it's only growing. Believe it or not we all get a year older every year, who'd have thunk it? The pool is getting bigger, not smaller. Please increase the size.

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 7:12pm

Happy to pass that along but note the divisional sizes are based on historical interest (last year both of those divisions were also set to 24, but they didn't fill), membership percentages, and importantly the available space based on the number and appropriateness of the courses provided.

Billy Hove    April 28, 2022 at 4:36pm

Is there RV parking onsite or are there any RV park recommendations?

Nate Heinold   April 28, 2022 at 5:26pm

Timberline Campground in Goodfield. RV's are not allowed to be parked at any of the courses just FYI.

John Strifler   April 30, 2022 at 12:49am

Timberline is great - $240 for a week with full hookup - nothing fancy; easy to get to all the courses

Steve Manatt    April 28, 2022 at 4:19pm

Question about practicing the courses during the tournament. I'm assuming after the last card comes off, the course would be open to practice. Can that be confirmed?

Nate Heinold   April 28, 2022 at 5:26pm

The courses are available for practice once all groups have finished.

Steve Manatt   April 28, 2022 at 6:20pm

Thank you.

Where can I find info on doubles at worlds? mixed and pro. Thank you.

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 4:57pm

I just realized you had the word "Mixed" in there, at Master Worlds it is only Divisional Doubles.

Gary Dayton    April 28, 2022 at 12:41pm

hello, i and another player are both registered for singles already. Can we partner for doubles after we have already submitted our singles registrations?

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 1:02pm

Gary - yes! You can each use the "Modify Registration" link in your confirmation email to add doubles, list each other as the partner and make the payments, thanks!

Patrick Conway    April 28, 2022 at 12:28pm

UNBELIEVABLE !! All the negative comments ! Read a little people ! I want to personally thank all the staff for this (my first worlds event) huge tournament. Maybe quit your bellyaching and have some positive input to further better the event ! Thanks again to the entire staff, I know what a pain even small events are to run.

Agreed and thank you I hope you enjoy it is a ton of fun

Burt Grimsley   April 28, 2022 at 12:42pm

1000% agreed!!! Woke up to butt hurt ADULTS upset they did not get in. Mostly because of their own ignorances.

Timothy LeMaster   April 29, 2022 at 2:50am

While I understand your point, you guys are missing the core point being made. The core point is that there is thousands of people invited and limited spots. It ends up a coinflip to get in on some of the limited spots. I got in, but I'm not the in the top 144 MA40 players in the world. I' ... more

Curtis Shriver    April 28, 2022 at 9:45am

Waitlist question: I'm in MA60/65 pool. There are 72 total spots; 59 for 60 and 23 for 65. I'm 15th in 60. As people withdraw, will the 59/23 stay the same or will it adjust according to who is earlier on the waitlist?

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 12:13pm

The 59/23 is the current caps as spots are still held for some World Champions. As they register (or already have) those spots are added back so it will eventually be 60/24. The waitlists are per division, not per pool.

Curtis Shriver   April 28, 2022 at 1:30pm

Thank you

Joel Rosales    April 28, 2022 at 5:12am

What are the chances a waitlist player gets in, also if we don’t do we get refunded. Again thanks for all you guys do hope to make it in or get an invite and get in next year. One I found the many that didn’t read fine print and took test tonight after registration opened my bad on not reading everything. Anyway thanks for response ahead of time

Roger Vranak   April 28, 2022 at 10:34am

Good chance of getting in . Yes if not I you get refunded minus a small fee. I hope you get in .

Andrew Sweeton   April 28, 2022 at 11:30am

The chances depend on how many people drop, we usually see a fair number of drops for all kinds of reasons, but there is no way to predict which divisions those drops will occur in. Yes, anyone still on the waitlist at the end is refunded.

Gregorie Handley    April 28, 2022 at 3:27am

So I also believe this registration process is bull****. The invitations should be more clear about needing to take a test to be certified in order to actually register. If you are given an invite you should be able to register for the tournament and informed about the certification process. First time invitees such as myself where unaware of this…

While the requirement may have been stated, it did not define the Certified Official process so it would be clearly understood. I was stoked to have an invitation that told me when to register at a set time so I wrongfully thought that was all I had to do. It has been a learning experience and I am signing off from this discussion.

Anthony Faurot   May 23, 2022 at 5:20pm

as a first timer i was fully aware you had to be a registered official on reg. date to enter.

Bill Stackhouse    April 28, 2022 at 3:27am

This is WORLDS, not just another routine tournament. Division spots should be filled with a bias toward higher rated players, not on how fast you can read the sign up options and submit payment. This tournament should focus on the quality of the players if it is to be titled WORLD Championships.

How Can It Be Worlds When The Best Player in The World Ends Up on A Wait List?

michael mallon   April 28, 2022 at 11:07am

Truth... entries based on ratings/rankings, not on the ability to sit by and wait for reg to open. That said fair is fair for all now as the process was known but room to improve in the future.

Mike Sullivan   April 28, 2022 at 2:24pm

Andrew, the most current (and official) version of the ORDG and CM are on the PDGA website: https://www.pdga.com/rules You can also download or view the printed version here: https://www.pdga.com/pdga-documents/rules/rules-history/pdga-2022-rule-book

Jason Shear    April 28, 2022 at 2:59am

When you pulled Carrie Hayes out of MA40 I would have thought that the 1st on the MA40 Waitlist would have been promoted, but someone was allowed to sneak in front of the people on the Waitlist. That's a definite software flaw that you may want to address

Jerry Dobbins    April 28, 2022 at 2:46am

My registration defaulted to 50 instead of 55 and I didn't notice it, It wouldn't let me modify my registration so I registered for 50 then submitted a withdrawal for 55. Wanted to make sure I didn't get removed from both.

not a problem, thanks for letting me know it wasn't fully synched up.

John Borelli   April 28, 2022 at 2:17pm

Jerry, I wondered why you were playing with us young guys! ;)

May we add a registration for divisional doubles team after we've registered for the regular event?

What's the point of an invitation to only end up on a wait list?

Obviously a Ratings Criteria Needs To Be Implemented Across the Board ...What Evers Clever

Mark Hill   April 28, 2022 at 3:48am

Why? What would make a 940 player any more deserving than an 880 player if they both met the points criteria to qualify?

Mark Hill   April 28, 2022 at 3:49am

I’d say the 880 player is probably more deserving since it was probably harder for them to finish high enough in events to get the necessary points.

mike sellers    April 28, 2022 at 2:43am

If any FA50 wants to play doubles I would like to but have no partner. Mike Sellers (70165)

I Just registered us for dubs by adding your name and PDGA# to my edit. & added $25. add me on your side and we should be good....or double paid

Shelley Carden   April 28, 2022 at 4:07am

I sent you a DGS message

David Cash   April 28, 2022 at 5:42pm

Mike, notice it is divisional doubles, not mixed doubles. You can play mixed but you’ll likely be playing against all-make teams.
