Happy to pass that along but note the divisional sizes are based on historical interest (last year both of those divisions were also set to 24, but they didn't fill), membership percentages, and importantly the available space based on the number and appropriateness of the courses provided.

Timberline Campground in Goodfield. RV's are not allowed to be parked at any of the courses just FYI.

Timberline is great - $240 for a week with full hookup - nothing fancy; easy to get to all the courses

I just realized you had the word "Mixed" in there, at Master Worlds it is only Divisional Doubles.

It ends up a coinflip to get in on some of the limited spots. I got in, but I'm not the in the top 144 MA40 players in the world. I'm like the 121st rated out of 144 players. I'm sure there are 23 other ma40 players who wanted to go and didn't get a signed up in the first 15min for various reasons.

The 59/23 is the current caps as spots are still held for some World Champions. As they register (or already have) those spots are added back so it will eventually be 60/24. The waitlists are per division, not per pool.

The chances depend on how many people drop, we usually see a fair number of drops for all kinds of reasons, but there is no way to predict which divisions those drops will occur in. Yes, anyone still on the waitlist at the end is refunded.

The registration requirements are posted all over the place on this site as well as in your email and on the tournament site. It's almost annoying how often it's stated. Go take the test and get on the waitlist.

If you did not read my statement I will restate that in the invitations sent out it is not clear to newer PDGA players what certification is. I took the test and passed it but only after finding out what the issue was.

The letter says "It is also important to note that you must be a current 2022 PDGA Member and Certified Official with an expiration date after July 16, 2022, before you can register for the event!" It points you to a link to the Registration Schedule, which says "In all cases a player must be both a current 2022 PDGA member and a certified official through July 16, 2022 to be able to register. If you are not a current 2022 PDGA member and/or not a Certified Official with an expiration date after July 16, 2022, you will not be able to register." That link also tells you that all questions can go to the Event Support Team, and has a contact link to email my office.

That requirement is noted in 13 different places of Masters Worlds documentation and the registration page, including a bullet point in the invite that was emailed to each invitee.

Simple Fix You Get Invited to a Qualifier You Place in The Qualifier You Are In Worlds. Every Major Should have Thursday Qualifiers You make the Cut You Play The Weekend, PDGA still get all the entry money since that's all the BS is about and nothing about the Very First Rule of Disc Golf....Grow The Sport JMHO

Garry did you take your drivers test without reading the book ? Did you ask any questions prior to registration thinking you had it all covered ? Had you asked any of my friends these types of questions you would have got help . At some point accountability comes from yourself ? Message me if you want help and guidance.

I have gone back and read the invitation and it does say must be "Certified Official" but I had read that as "Certified Official PDGA Member". Nowhere does it say you must log on and take a 25 question exam prior to registration and nowhere does it offer any in-site into how to prepare for the exam. It's a Mute point now since I missed the window.

It was obviously clear to the 787 people that are now registered...just sayin...this isn't a new requirement. Maybe do a little research before the night of registration

Not a convincing argument. With over 200,000 registered PDGA members and 787 made it, that is less than 1% of the group. So it looks like you had to already have made this mistake and be aware or you had someone mentoring you through the process.

No Patrick, _your_ argument is unconvincing. Being a Certified Official has been a requirement for Majors for some time. It's clearly stated in like 17+ places all over the PDGA & Worlds sites. Please accept that you didn't do your proper research and be ready next time the opportunity is available. The first sentence of that document was "All participants in the 2022 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships must be current 2022 PDGA Members and Certified Officials through the end before they can register for the event." That's been repeated many more times, including a reminder at the top of this comment section. You've had 16 months' notice of the requirement and could have reached out at any time if you had a question. I understand that you're frustrated, but the fact of your frustration does not mean you did not receive repeated notice of the requirement.

While the requirement may have been stated, it did not define the Certified Official process so it would be clearly understood. I was stoked to have an invitation that told me when to register at a set time so I wrongfully thought that was all I had to do. It has been a learning experience and I am signing off from this discussion.

Maybe continue to do staged invites dates like what happens for international invitees. 2 weeks for international, then the following 2 weeks for international and 940 and up rated players, then the following 2 weeks international, 860 and up and so on. Allow it to fill with the higher rated first. Otherwise, you end up with a World Champion who was faster at button pushing.

However it did state in the invite letter that one must be recertified by July 16th. The month date should not matter. The year to should. Rules don't change from day to day or month to month. It's Year to Year. So perhaps the PDGA should reevaluate the certified official process. And how is one to know what rules there are in disc golf if they don't get a rule book when they sign up or renew memberships. (To answer your question Andrew this is what I'm talking about..) Totally Cheese and Crackers. Another Circus act gone right. And what idiots are in charge of the Major committee? Are these the ones I need to sue for false information for sending me an invite when I don't meet the criteria??

Truth... entries based on ratings/rankings, not on the ability to sit by and wait for reg to open. That said fair is fair for all now as the process was known but room to improve in the future.
