So this is unlikely but what if lets say 50 people rate out of MA4 and have to move to MA3, and nobody rates out of MA3. Now you guaranteed them a spot so the pool just goes up from 540 to 590? Isn't that going to affect course schedule and everything? Also, what about the waitlist? This would affect them as well I would think.

Craig, what you are saying is statistically impossible. This is our 12th year of doing this event, and we have always had plans behind the scenes to address every possible situation, and this is no different. We feel confident in our plan.

This is a great update for the AM side! I am right under 970 but have accepted cash. Would I still be guaranteed a spot to play in the event if I am over 970 in July or how would that work with it not being an AM to AM move and instead AM to PRO with a separate event?

Alex, you would not be guaranteed a spot, since you would not be rating out of a division. Taking cash means you have become a pro, which is not the same thing as rating out of a division. The DGPT event is a separate event from the AM event, and unfortunately you would not have a spot in the DGPT event if your rating goes to 970+

In fa1, is there a ratings cap? And if that person goes over do they get a spot on the pro side or just get a refund?

You can view the PDGA ratings classification and get that information. There is no ratings cap for FA1 unless you have taken cash. If you have taken cap, there is a ratings cap. Someone who rates out of FA1 and has taken cash does not have a guaranteed spot in FPO, but we expect anyone on the FPO waitlist to get in.

There is a lot of disinformation here: first of all, everyone had the ability to redeem their voucher in person at the event. The holdback that you are referencing covers shipping and handling fees. We are following the PDGA Competition Manual when we do that; if prizes were not redeemed in person, we cannot then also be responsible for paying to ship those prizes out. Since our site gives free shipping above $70, and there is no way to counter that, we had to reduce the prize amounts accordingly to cover our shipping costs. The two week delay for the codes was for MANY reasons and was communicated with everyone via email: we had to restock the site, first of all, and second of all, we had to get through our backlog of orders. If we had sent out payout codes the week after the event, those orders would not have been touched for 3 weeks. We had to finish shipping out the rest of the orders from our site, raffle prizes, and player packs, and had several other post event tasks to complete. In the future we may just eliminate the AM payout entirely and give all of that money to St Jude. The lack of patience is astounding; we were not required to do an AM payout at all, as we had already TRIPLED the amount of value we were required to give to AM players. Heck, the AM players get MORE value than the pros. Consider that most large AM events don't give any kind of AM payout, and ours was $135,000.

I merely wanted to know if others were experiencing a lack of shipping update after purchase. I’ve ordered things (not through Ledgestone shop) in the past that somehow never get scanned-in through USPS. and when that occurs it’s better to be proactive. I clearly don’t feel as strongly as OP, but someone did delete my comment and aside from wildly inappropriate posts deleting stuff comes across weird. And this isn’t a new thing….2 years ago I calmly asked reasonable questions about the Poker Night payout relative to the originally posted field size and those posts were also deleted. The selective removal of comments goes unmentioned in your response.

It all depends on how many are in the division you played in. 1st place in a division of 200 people will get more payout than a 1st place finisher in a division of 80 people. (And so on down the line). It’s all a simple matter of how much money was collected from the entrants in a division.

Your payout was accurate. Comparing to people in a different division is apples to oranges. It depends on division size.

WOW! Not sure how it all works with ties, but according to you placement. MA2 - 15th place gets $260 minus whatever percentage they were taking out for shipping adjustment.

I’m sure they’ve been busy, but they have a responsibility to get it out in a reasonable time. For pro divisions, payout must be completed within 2 days of the event (there’s no corresponding rule for Ams unfortunately)

I get that Devin, but I agree with Brad. Reasonable time would be great or just set the expectations. If it is going to be a month, tell us that. However, when you keep telling us this week it gets frustrating. I know everyone is just as excited as myself to get my payout so I can order some merchandise. LOL
