Hello JRM players!

Thank you for being a part of a long-standing tradition in Colorado disc golf, the Johnny Roberts Memorial. This spring Johnny was inducted into the Colorado Disc Golf Hall of Fame, a newly created honor to recognize those who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the sport in Colorado. Johnny was known as the “squeezer geezer”. He loved people, he loved disc sports, and he loved the students he taught in Arvada. Johnny was an avid competitor of many disc sports including disc golf and freestyle. Through this weekend we have some of Johnny’s disc sport memorabilia at the event. Please take some time to check out pieces of Colorado disc golf history. Among the things that Johnny is remembered for is W.O.L.F. (Wretched Old Lecherous Farts) and his love of eclipses. This year you will see those items incorporated into the design of the discs, shirts, patches, and trophies.

We remember Johnny not just this weekend, but anytime we admire the beauty of a disc in flight. We ask that each group remember Johnny by performing the customary “Johnny Howl” before the beginning of each round. This can be done by doing a wolf howl on the tee pad with your card mates. We should note that your group should do this in the most COVID safe way you are comfortable with.

Each year we also honor a Colorado disc golfer that has embodied the spirit and legacy of who Johnny Roberts was. We give the “Spirit of Johnny” award to a player or players who best uphold a desire to grow the community, give back to the sport, and ultimately, have the most fun. Friday afternoon we will be announcing the recipients of this coveted award. We will be recording the award ceremony and that video will be available to the entire membership of the Mile High Disc Golf Club. Please be sure to congratulate the winners of this award if you see them on the course or in the community.

The courses are set up for practice rounds on Friday. Tom, Kyle, and I will be painting and flagging the courses on Friday. All player packs are distributed at the Disc Revolution Course at Optimist. All players will get some portion of a player pack


Tournament procedures:

The PDGA event page shows your starting hole for the first round. Please make sure to check in on Saturday morning in case something changes between now and then. Please check-in either Friday during early check-in or at your starting course on Saturday. Pool A begins at the Thunderbird Bar Course at Pessimist and Pool B begins at the Disc Revolution Course at Optimist.

You are expected to be at your starting hole prior to the 8:30 am round start. We will call the two-minute warning at 8:28 am. Anyone who is not at their starting hole may be subject to penalty strokes.

Scoring is going to be done on PDGA.Com/Score the code to get in is JRM.

PLEASE do not log on until 10 minutes before your tee time to keep things from getting weird on the web page. BACK UP SCORING will be the free UDISC APP, you can create a layout of 19 holes or use the 19 JRM Hole Layout. YOUR OFFICIAL SCORE CARD IS THE PDGA WEBSITE CARD. One person keeps score on UDISC, and one person can keep score on PDGA, the group can also rotate around the PDGA digital scoring by logging out and the next player logging in.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO STICK AROUND UNTIL YOUR SCORE IS SUBMITTED. If you decide to leave your group before your card is submitted and things are wrong, you can and will be assessed the proper penalties per PDGA Rules.



This is a PDGA Sanctioned event and as such all rules are in effect including Alcohol and Substance consumption during your rounds.

The award ceremony for the event will take place after the conclusion of round three at the Disc Revolution Course at Optimist. Amateur divisions will compete for trophies, cash earners will be paid via PayPal, please ensure your PayPal address is correct. We encourage all players to stick around to watch our event's top performers in the final 9 skins. We have a fun layout for this part of the event.

Any players who drop beginning today will only receive their player pack in lieu of a refund.
