Welcome to the 2020 Gem State Disc Golf Club Championships held at the wonderous Lucky Peak State Park! We've had several successful Club Championship events over the last couple years and they all require fun! Every Club Champs series is a must but If you miss out on this one well...you plain and simple missed out. This year we will be doing a two day, two Round event at Lucky Peak State Park. We will be playing two different courses for this event which include Sandy Point and Lydle Gultch ( Blue ).
If you have never played Sandy Point then this will give you a partial feeling of what the experience is all about. We will be playing the upper and lower half of the course which is in a park setting and includes an elevated upper ridge. You will test your patience on this course as you prove your angles true against the factors of rolling slopes and elevation change of 18 holes. Lydle Blue will be more of a hike as there is much more elevation than Sandy. Lydle blue is almost all sage brush and bushes with constant elevation change. Hiking shoes are recommended for his course.
Saturday all Amateur players will be playing their 1st round at Lydle Blue at 10:00 AM.
All Pro players will be playing Sandy Point Saturday at 10:00 AM. Pro's will be split from Ams both days to provide a solid flow of pace on both courses. Sunday the pros and ams will switch courses and start at 9AM.
After each round there will be skill events for you to participate in. Saturday will be Putting and Upshot skill events, and Sunday will be the long drive along with some games on the side to participate in. Club central will be located in the parking lot at Sandy point inside of the state park both days. Make sure to check in at club central before driving up the road to lydle Blue so you know your hole assignment.
Trophies for the winner of each divison as well as trophies for each skill event and an overall Club Champion. All divisional winners will receive a free 2021 club membership.
You must be a Gem State Disc Golf Club member to participate in this event. Memberships will be available at the event for purchase at $15. You can also get on our website and have them delivered to you through Alex Owens.
By preregistering for this event you are guranteeing yourself a spot. Your $25 entry fee will be collected at check-in. This fee goes directly towards Food, Drink, and trophies. Don't forget to bring an extra $5 If you plan on playing some fun games on the side that will help benefit Idaho Masters 2021. Also if you plan on parking inside the park and do not have a parks pass bring an extra $5 for that as well or park at the entrance and walk in.
This will be our last event before heading into our yearly Winter series 2020/2021. More information and updates will be provided on our Facebook page link below.
