2016 Prodigy Par2 Event at Sims Park Disc Golf Course

Thanks to the 23 die-hard (and crazy) disc golfers who came out in the bitter cold for the Prodigy Par2 Event at Sims Park Disc Golf Course!! Congrats to Dave Hotchkiss for taking the win and the tourney bag, Lucas Kreps for snagging 2nd, and Rick Falstreau for landing in third! Corey Hill won the Ring of Fire for the starter bag, and CTPs were claimed by Mickey Anderson, Don DeMoss, and Bill Adamini. And another thanx to Beach Club Bistro and Eric Wernet for letting us warm up after with some great food and drinks!! Good times and good people, that's all i can ever ask for :)

Ribbon and tape will be on hand to help track discs through the snow. As of now, there is 3" - 6" on the ground. All holes will be made to have no blind shots (for the most part), but spotters can also be used on each card to help keep things moving. It will be very cold, so please come prepared. Below is a list of the tee locations for the shortened layout:

Hole 9: Halfway up near bushes in middle of fairway
Hole 10: At edge of treeline on left of fairway
Hole 11: On right side of fairway
Hole 12: On left side of fairway, basket deep (near gravel path)
Hole 13: Near pine trees in middle of fairway
Hole 14: At edge of bushes on right side of fairway
Hole 15: On right side of fairway near small trees
Hole 16: At edge of treeline in middle of fairway
Hole 17: On left side of fairway
Hole A: In treeline on hole B fairway (near driveway)
Hole B: In open area, straight on from basket
Hole 18: To right of bush in middle of fairway (parking lot side)

All holes are Par 2!!!!!!

In the case of a tie for the top 3 spots, Aces will be used as a tie breaker. If no Aces are hit, then a CTP will be used to decide the winner.

Weather forecast for the event is very cold and possibly some snow, with some already on the ground. Please be prepared, as this event will go on as scheduled. It will be 1 round of 20 shortened holes, followed by a Ring of Fire. Seeing as the discs are white, I may bring some ribbon to use. If I don't get ribbon, spotters can be used from each card. There will be no blind shots, as all baskets will be within sight for each hole, with distances between 90-150 feet. This should help ensure no discs are lost.

Prizes for the event will be:

First Place: Tournament Bag and 2 Discs
2nd Place: 2 Discs
3rd Place: 1 Disc


Ring of Fire: Starter Bag
CTPs: 3 holes for CTP with 1 Disc as a prize. CTPs will be holes 3, 6, and 18

I will be getting a random assortment of discs for prizes. 1st Place will choose theirs after CTPs (discs to be determined before event starts), then 2nd place, then 3rd.

Just stopped down to scope out the conditions at the course, and I'm happy to say there is less snow than by my house. At most there is 1-3" on the ground, as a good bit has blown off. There will most likely be some drifts near the hills and whatnot, but it is not deep as I had originally thought. Not much (if any) snow is expected tonight, but the cold is there and won't be leaving. So please be prepared. Bring gloves and dress warm. The wind chill will be below ... more

There will most likely be some drifts near the hills and whatnot, but it is not deep as I had originally thought. Not much (if any) snow is expected tonight, but the cold is there and won't be leaving. So please be prepared. Bring gloves and dress warm. The wind chill will be below zero, so it will be very cold on the 4 holes right near the lake. We will only be playing one round of 20 holes, so I'm hoping that this will take only about 2 hours tops. But be prepared regardless.
