About this tournament

Join us fellow disc golfs as we begin our long awaited dream to get an 18 hole disc golf course installed at Waahila Ridge State Recreation Area!

LETS GO!!!

For the first three months (July, August, and September) we will be have two workdays a month to get a strong foothold on getting this course in the grounds. After the first three months we will evaluate our progress and determine how to proceed for the next quarter (October, November, and December).

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST SIGN A RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER PRIOR TO DOING ANY VOLUNTEER WORK AT HILA !!!

AFTER YOU REGISTER YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITH THE LINK TO COMPLETE THE WAIVER FORM.

YOU ONLY NEED TO SIGN THE FORM ONCE, FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR, SO JULY 1, 2024 THROUGH JULY 1, 2025.

July 13th, and 20th.
August 10th, and 17th.
September 14th, and 28th.

For this very first work day we will meet near hole one (where the bathrooms are) at 7:45AM for a quick orientation/safety meeting before proceeding to hole 1.

WHAT TO BRING!
1. Gloves
2. Mosquito Repellent - those buggahs are fierce up there!
3. LOTS OF COLD WATER
4. Lunch (*we can plan to bbq as well....letʻs discuss this option.......)
5. Tools if you have any of the following it will help. What we need (several hand loopers, 2-3 chainsaws, many hand saws, 2 shovels)

WHAT TO WEAR!
1. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing such as covered shoes, protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection (if you will be operating a chain saw).
2. Head protection (hat) and sunscreen should be worn as protection from the sun.

The goal for this first work day will be to work on clearing the fairways on the first three new holes; by clearing low bushes, cutting limbs and small trees along the fairways, around the tee boxes, walkways between holes, and around basket positions. We will have most of the limbs, trees, and bushes premarked so that eveeryone will know what we want to be removed. We will also be collecting any trash on the course.

Golf Central for this workday will be located at the lower Pavilion down the trail from the bathrooms and between new holes 1 & 2.

For those interested we may also do a course walkthrough so everyone can see the entire new course layout.
