1/3 Life Crisis Classic
About this tournament
Andrew Hypes is turning 30 this year and he wants to celebrate his birthday With. YOU.
This will be a 1 round Handicap Singles event. The Handicap Singles format is based off of your PDGA rating and you'll be assigned a handicap pre-tournament relative to the highest rated player in the field.
According to past tournament data, every stroke taken at Eagle's Nest represents a 10 point difference in round rating. Therefore, if the highest rated player in the field has a rating of 980 and you have a rating of 880, you will be given a 10 stroke advantage before play even begins!
As such, it would be super tight if every competitor had a PDGA rating, but Andrew's willing to work with unrated competitors should they provide good proof of their average scores at reputable courses.
In other words, everyone will theoretically start on even ground regardless of rating or skill level. Whomever plays the best in relation to their rating will come out on top.
Since Andrew is turning 30, the entry fee will be $30; clever, huh? $5 of each entry fee will go to a charitable cause TBD. The other $25 is going straight into the prize pool. Only the top 10% of finishers will be paid out, so I'm hoping for some competitive golf and some big paydays!
There might be some other features, idk. (Ace Fund, CTPs) Andrew just wants to get together with a bunch of his friends and potentially take their money if he plays well too.
