About this tournament
2 rounds of play
We are excited to host another sanctioned event at Kennel Lake. This is a private sportsmen's club but Kennel Lake is graciously allowing us to use the course on this day for a sanctioned PDGA C Tier. We will be playing two rounds of 18 holes on the Ledgestone tournament layout. Holes 15, 17 and 18 will be moved to the long pin positions. Approximate start time will be 9AM. This will be a normal PDGA Sanctioned event for all divisions and then it will also be a Future of Disc Golf Qualifier, with more information listed below.
Future of Disc Golf Qualifier:
The Kennel Lake Spring Opener will also be a Future of Disc Golf North America Qualifier. All Junior players singing up for this event (MP18/FP18, MJ18/FJ18, MJ15, FJ15) will be playing for a chance to qualify for the next round of the series at Maple Hill this June. Winners of each division will also be provided with travel assistance to get to Maple Hill.
This event is open to any Junior players who have turned pro (MP18/FP18), as well as MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, and FJ15 divisions. MP18 and MJ18 will compete in the same division. FP18 and MJ18 will compete in the same division.
MP18/FP18:
PDGA members who are classified as professional and who will be 18 years or younger on Dec 31, 2025 will be eligible to compete. As Disc Golf Scene will not allow professional players to sign up for a junior division, we will be utilizing the MP18 or FP18 divisions for registrations. The Tournament Director will move you into the appropriate division (MJ18 and FJ18) in PDGA after you have signed up.
This is a True Amateur event that will not have any payout for these 4 divisions. It will be a competition to see who the best junior players are regardless of amateur/professional standing.
Each division's number of qualifiers depends on the field size. Here is the qualifying breakdown:
- If division has three or fewer competitors, top 1 player qualifies
- If division has four or more competitors, top 2 players qualify
- If division has eight or more competitors, top 3 players qualify
- Travel assistance will only be available to the winner of each of the 4 divisions
The Future of Disc Golf Qualifier will have its own player pack:
FDG Disc 1
FDG Disc 2
FDG Disc 3
FDG T-Shirt
