Thank you all for choosing to spend your weekend with us in Houston for the 30th Annual Texas State Championships !!!

We are absolutely honored to have the opportunity to carry the torch of Texas States and continue the legacy that HFDS started 30+ years ago.
It is our goal to both honor the cherished traditions of the States event and push forward with the growth and progress of our beloved sport. This being the 30th Anniversary of this prestigious event, Houston Flying Disc Society has committed funds and resources to celebrate what represents a generation of commitment to our beloved sport.

Am players may pickup their players packs at HQ (Brock Park) from 7am til 7pm Fri thru Sunday.
PROS that have purchased event putters may pick those up from 7-7 at HQ also.


INCLEMENT WEATHER INFO-
Weather Conditions
We will keep you updated on weather conditions. Please see below for air horn alarms and what they mean:

2 Horn Blasts: 2 minute warning before the start of the round
1 Horn Blast: Play may begin
3 Horn Blasts: Play is to suspend immediately, mark your current lie, 
                          and seek shelter. We will make updates on the 
                          facebook event page with further instructions. Your 
                          course directors will also know what is going on. 

If you hear three horn blasts, this most likely signifies lightning in the area or extreme weather conditions (tornado, flash floods, heavy hail, etc.). Lightning delays dictate a 30-minute pause in play. Each time lightning strikes within an 8 mile radius, the 30-minute period will start over.

Tee signs are for distance and shape reference only. There were OB changes since their production and some may not be accurate. The provided doc and live scoring are accurate. The courses are marked appropriately.
GOLD HOLE 18- Distance is 460ft
MOD HOLE 18- Sidewalk long is OB.

wandered for a bit thru hills and valleys, and storm felled timbers, but drifted toward the setting

see. But further in me eyesight, hordes of treasure Pirates. They seemed to be in fierce battle,
the likes of which I’ve never seen, warriors throwing flat plates, towards what I do not see. I

left, so I hurried down a slope toward divided water. Skulking up a bit, I slowed to quench me
thirst, among the beaver felled trees. Beady eyes peering above the algae, had I found me
sheltered place? I stooped low near a big timber, and peered around and heard no sound, a few
steps away, I sat and played. But alas the Pirates were after me loot, so it was time to scoot, but
now I hurried quicker, my load being lightened. Twas time to leave these battled grounds,
outnumbered by the hundreds, only had to duck a few plates, it’s funny how they never break.”

I have a question about OB lines. I think I know the right answer but want to get it out there for all to hopefully get on the right page.

Example - Hole 2 at the Christian Church has both paint line and string line defining OB towards the end of the fairway left side. There are of course differences in what is represented as OB.

Is the string line the one and only source of truth for determining OB - it over rules any paint line that may be on the ground ??

Alright the weather forecast looks better than it had, we will likely see rain on Friday giving way to BEAUTIFUL weather for Saturday and Sunday !!

I’ll also include procedures for inclement weather in the players guide.

Innova and Grit Discs will be onsite vending at Brock all weekend, along with some other smaller setups.

Gorilla Disc Golf will have a GIANT inventory for shopping and for payouts.

I will be on the Brock course refreshing paint lines and putting the final touches on the setup, so please be patient for responses until later this evening.

Please excuse the delay getting back to yall, here. I've been boots on the ground at Brock getting things in order for weekend practice.

The Brock courses are very close, with full signage and paint. A few holes on Gold are missing OB flags, those will be in Monday. A few updates will be made to the signage to reflect official rules. The mandos and DZs in place now are official.

Basket tops on the GOLD course will be switched to Innova Pro 28s on Tuesday. They will be secured, leveled and reinforced.

Ill be going over OB lines, flags, doing more trimming on Brock holes 9, 10 and 13.
Brock 11 basket will move left about 25ft.

Ive also made some updates to the ABOUT section and clarified tee order for Brock Mod on Friday. Ive also updated FP40, as they have joined the B Pool rotation for Friday.

TABBS BAY UDisc had been added to the about section.

Tomorrow is admin day for me, so you'll see more updates that will include official rules and tee time publishing time. IM going to shoot for Thurs before noon.

-MA1 to play Brock Gold as opposed to Silver
-MA40 to B-POOL: Playing TAT / Brock Silver / Brock Mod (as opposed to (Northside Christian / Brock Mod / Deussen)
-FP40 To B pool
-E-Pool will play Northside Christian Church on FRIDAY (as opposed to TC Jester), but continue with the OG schedule.

Other updates-
-Fly thru's of Brock Gold, Brock Mod, NCC and Deussen are being finalized
